Hi Gang, This is a recipe I use for an outdoor grow:- Use roughly 1/3 of a bucket of "old" cow or sheep manure the same amount of compost two handfuls of chicken pellets Place them in a porous bag tie the neck up and soak in 50 liters of water. for about 2 weeks. almost fill a 10 liter bucket with water and some of the brew. add a tablespoon of fish emulsion add a small amount of liquid potassium and the same amount of seaweed concentrate. Now this is far to strong, so put 1 liter into a watering can and top up with water. and bingo. cheers Gills

Just a question for those with fish tanks etc, What level of PPM can most fish handle?? Why you ask? because when I went in to buy some clayballs today, this guy had gold fish in his flood and drain res. They looked healthy as. So I looked it up on the net when I got home and aparently alot of people have fish in their res, as they produce enough plant nutrients for a plant. But like i guess I need to also be adding some mineral salts to the res, to up the amount of nutrients available. Also what about old water out of my fish tanks? i wonder if this produces enough?? I remember the tropicals I had, we used to add salt to the water. :scratchin :scratchin

ALWAYS USE YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT WHEN SHOPPING ONLINE Hi all As most of you have probably done or are currently doing, we like to shop online for those bargains when it comes to things like those expensive lights, fans and other equipment. I propose (if it has not already been done and I have completly missed it) that we create a comprehensive database on who stocks the best gear at the best prices. Now, I dont mean Ebay or anything like that (unless we are talking about a consistantly good Ebay seller), just good everyday prices and good package deals. Thanks

I just read the post about adding flavors or aromas to your buds during the final flush but I was wondering/hoping someone could speak from experience on the stuff you apparently can buy at the hydro shop. I haven't looked into them yet but hearing from people who have used it before would have to be better than the shop guys hype. Do they mess up your res? Do they actually add flavor to the bud - like, noticeable when you smoke it? Or is it just a fragrance thing when it's in the jars? Jimbo

I grow indoor organically and lately I haven't been able to get my main ingredient; worm castings. I live in Brisbane and every nursery, produce store, hardware i go just stare at me blankly when I ask about worm castings. If anyone knows where I can get some please let me know. I never get deficiency problems if I use the worm poo. If I can no longer get the poo what do I do? Any alternatives? I am also wondering if anyone can suggest ways of improving my technique. I normally just mix about 50% castings with maybe 35% coir and 15 % perlite or vermiculite. I also mix in some blood and bone and some Maxicrop 100% organic with seaweed. This isn't as exact as it sounds; i…

Hi stoners I'm in the early stages of a coco/perlite grow with Growth Technology coco nutes. Seedlings are 5 days old sativa and i'm feeding them 1/2 strength nutes as per directions on the bottle with a drop of superthrive. Problem is my ppm reading is only 600 at this strength. Seems a bit low to me What do ya reckon guys? Should i up the strength a bit?

I was just making a sodawater and was just wondering what would happen if I used some in the nutrient tank? Does anyone know the pros and cons ? Would it release CO2 into the grow room , would it add oxygen to the water, would it kill the plants ? What you rekon?

Hi everyone. A while ago I was asking around what to use as a material for making a growhouse in the backyard. An old fella I know grows prize winning flowers in "igloo" looking greenhouses, quiet large afairs. 20 odd feet tall, 30 or so feet long and wide, in a dome shape. The interesting feature I found is the material is like a white plastic-PVC looking stuf. For pot, I'd reckon plants would do best if raised as high as possible in the arrangement, up on tables perhaps. However he's grown garden vegetables in them, and they do fine. He mainly grows South American plants that don't need lots of light,so it's all moote to him. The old bloke's 96 years old BTW, and if I c…

I've noticed that our tap water is sort of hard, as noticed by the quick build up of calcium deposits in the shower. Now I DO have a nice collection of rain water, but it's slightly "contaminated" with some dirt and wot not. It's rather brown as a result. I'm just wondering, does it matter if I use my hard tap water on my lil indoor soily? I have used tap water so far, and I don't want to go and BUY distilled water. Any and all suggestions would be great. Thanks. Cheers. ~M.

Gday, Ive got a question about my plant! I have one plant outdoors, started from seed around mid October, it is now around 75cm tall, quite bushy and is starting to develop a few white hairs along some parts of the stem. What the? My understanding is that it should continue vegetative growth as the days are getting longer? Does this show of hairs mean that it is definitely a female and will bud once the days are shorter and it stops growing? Any help greatly appreciated.

This is my favourite and friends love it. Its simple and easy. 44gal food grade plastic drum with screw lid, if you want heaps of liquid ferts. But the drum size is up to you. Panty hose x 5 Cow manure Sheep manure Horse manure Chicken manure Comfrey leaves Fill each panty hose with a manure, and place in the drum with string tied around the panty hose. So they can be removed later on. Fill drum with water, put the lid on and wait. Every second day take the lid off (prepare for the smell) and give the drum a good stir. You will know when it is ready when there is no smell left. Now the best part, this has to be done once a week until you have use…
