Hi stoners I'm in the early stages of a coco/perlite grow with Growth Technology coco nutes. Seedlings are 5 days old sativa and i'm feeding them 1/2 strength nutes as per directions on the bottle with a drop of superthrive. Problem is my ppm reading is only 600 at this strength. Seems a bit low to me What do ya reckon guys? Should i up the strength a bit?

I was just making a sodawater and was just wondering what would happen if I used some in the nutrient tank? Does anyone know the pros and cons ? Would it release CO2 into the grow room , would it add oxygen to the water, would it kill the plants ? What you rekon?

Hi everyone. A while ago I was asking around what to use as a material for making a growhouse in the backyard. An old fella I know grows prize winning flowers in "igloo" looking greenhouses, quiet large afairs. 20 odd feet tall, 30 or so feet long and wide, in a dome shape. The interesting feature I found is the material is like a white plastic-PVC looking stuf. For pot, I'd reckon plants would do best if raised as high as possible in the arrangement, up on tables perhaps. However he's grown garden vegetables in them, and they do fine. He mainly grows South American plants that don't need lots of light,so it's all moote to him. The old bloke's 96 years old BTW, and if I c…

I've noticed that our tap water is sort of hard, as noticed by the quick build up of calcium deposits in the shower. Now I DO have a nice collection of rain water, but it's slightly "contaminated" with some dirt and wot not. It's rather brown as a result. I'm just wondering, does it matter if I use my hard tap water on my lil indoor soily? I have used tap water so far, and I don't want to go and BUY distilled water. Any and all suggestions would be great. Thanks. Cheers. ~M.

Gday, Ive got a question about my plant! I have one plant outdoors, started from seed around mid October, it is now around 75cm tall, quite bushy and is starting to develop a few white hairs along some parts of the stem. What the? My understanding is that it should continue vegetative growth as the days are getting longer? Does this show of hairs mean that it is definitely a female and will bud once the days are shorter and it stops growing? Any help greatly appreciated.

This is my favourite and friends love it. Its simple and easy. 44gal food grade plastic drum with screw lid, if you want heaps of liquid ferts. But the drum size is up to you. Panty hose x 5 Cow manure Sheep manure Horse manure Chicken manure Comfrey leaves Fill each panty hose with a manure, and place in the drum with string tied around the panty hose. So they can be removed later on. Fill drum with water, put the lid on and wait. Every second day take the lid off (prepare for the smell) and give the drum a good stir. You will know when it is ready when there is no smell left. Now the best part, this has to be done once a week until you have use…

Stolen from somewhere else on the internet and purely for example purposes is this square container bubbler http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/276/bubbler022cb8.jpg For small scale grows is it worth loading a system such as that up with 3/4 plants? I'm looking at having a go at a small stealth cabinet; Very small fluro mother/clone room on the top/bottom and a main chamber 150/250/400 cool tube with a couple of plants in a drip/bubbler system. So what is the most effective for a general yield be it scrog, tieing down, toping, natural or whatever for these stealth setups? 1,2,3,4 plants? Less plants more room to grow? As many as you can fit regardless of them ge…

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone knows about how early in the season you can plant outdoors around the sunny coast. Also how many harvests you could get out of one year. I'm new to this so i know pretty much bugger all, but i have heard the general planting time in Oz is end of winter/start of spring (sept-oct). I was thinking maybe it's fairly warm up there so the cold might not be such an issue? Any info would be great. Jazzm

Hey all, im new here, just getting my first grow going. I germinated 8 seeds in some paper towel, and have now transplanted them into bio-degradable jiffy pot type things. They have sprouted and formed their water leaves and are all starting to grow their first set of true mj leaves, and have been put into some larger pots with a general purpose potting mix that should be able to keep then going for a week or so. At the moment the roots are still only using the seed raising mix in the bio-degradable pots, but will reach the outer general purpose potting mix soon im assuming. I want to get these transplanted into proper holes lined with plastic, or sink some 40L pots asap,…
