I've been foliar feeding to counter what I think is nutrient imbalance in my soil, or maybe bad nutrient movement due to temps/PH. I guess some of the lack of discussion is because of the high percentage of people using 'perfect' nute solution on inherently sterile media. Anyway, I was reading this general doco on FF and thought it may interest some, http://foliarfert.com/pages/introduction.htm. Would one reason for avoiding this be fear of 'contamination' of foliage?

Hey guys, i was looking this up and was wondering if there are any noticeable differences between indica and sativa strains when it comes to early growth? im growing bagseed and the plants are a month old, grown from seeds. im wanting to know if they are either indica or sativa or hybrid, etc, but im not sure what to look for. Are there characteristics showing during early growth that can help us tell them apart? p.s. i know the differences between them when theyre older, taller, thinner, branchier plants and leaves for sativa, etc.

Hi guy's, What are your thoughts and views on people putting other drugs such as amphetamines/herion etc into their grows. Me personally think it is a crock of shit and here's why (taken from another post....saves me retyping): Why would you inject amphetamines into a growing plant? Wouldn't the injection cause necrosis of the cells at the injection site due to its' unnatural composition' (PH etc)? Please explain how the plant would metabolise the amphetamine and convert the active ingredients into the plant structure? Explain also how amphetamines would not destroy root zone microbiological (and other cellular divisions) activity which is crucial for plant li…

After only using perlite, I have recently acquired some bags of Hydroton, Coco & peat but have no experience with these mediums, what is a good mix? I was also looking at using DIATOMITE in a mix due to the silica it will provide to the root mass. So let me know what to mix for my next grow........ Thanks in advance, Canaman

Hi All, I've just started trying EXPLODE which was given to me as a sample (trial) product on the market. I am really interested in some feedback from those who have tried this already. I have seen some differences in the plants from the start of bloom, and was wondering if anyone else is seeing any change with their plants too. Thanks for the replies.

http://maximumyield.com/article_sh_db.php?...featureVar=true Differences Between Organic and Inorganic Plant Growing Systems by Dr. Carole Ann Rollins and Dr. Elaine Ingham 2009-07-01 There are some significant differences between an organic or biological system and the inorganic approach. Although the goal in both systems is the same - to grow healthy plants in the most cost effective way, the philosophical underpinnings of the two systems are very different. First, the biological system requires adequate microbial food in the soil, with replenishment by plant exudates in their myriad forms. Food comes in the form of nutrients such as sugar (bacterial food), proteins…

OK , I'm stepping up with the times and going to do a DWC grow . What water Temp ? What EC , PPM etc ? Half strength or full? What PH ? I'll be using what I have here , net pots , perlite ( I know clay balls are better ) . Dutch Fest nutes . Should the pots touch the water when I first start as the clones dont have roots hanging out the bottom of the pots yet ? I am excited at this , as I hear the growth rate is quick/quicker than what I am doing now , just Perlite pots watered by hand every couple of days sitting in kitty litter trays . Are the yields bigger/better ? Any help/advice much appreciated Cheers CG

Hi Im trying to develop a gel that i can use as the soil,I was thinking of getting pectin, mixing it with nutreints and soil turning it into some soil jello jam and then cutting them up in small chucks,i figured that water would drain better and plenty of air would get to the roots. any thoughts or advice on this matter? or has anyone tried something similar?

though I appreciate that better results happen with more 'exotic' media (coco, nute solutions, aerogardens, whatever) I'm 'easing into' the indoor thing, I'd like to 1st use pots full of 'soil' thank you. I have a few cuttings in 'the small cupboard' growing in a pot of what is essentially a mix of dirt and potting mix. I'm going to have to repot soon 'coz the little ladies are powering along quite nicely. I'm also thinking of dedicating this space to 18/6. There's another space I can use for 12/12. I'm thinking that maybe 6 250*250 square pots pretty well fills my 550*850 base. The two lamps (CFL) would also then neatly sit center of the 4 pots (2 outer and 2 inner…
