General Cultivation Q&A

Hi all I am in the process on building a grow room it is 1.6 x 2.6 and 2.5 tall. I want to do two 1.2x1.2 scrogs starting of with one then getting the other next grow. The problem is I'm not sure what hydro set up to go with I am leaning towards 2 flood and drain tables filled with clay balls. Dwc sounds good but I am still unsure how to clean the buckets when it's under the scrog. Any feedback would be great. Thanks

Hey guys , Just recently setup a recirculating dwc system ,losely following the guide found at cannaversity http://cannaversity.com/cannaversity/article.php?id=097 Now my issue is that the bukets won't feed back into the control bucket. So within minutes the 2 pots are over flowing and the control bucket is empty. Even with the pump off they don't level back out. My thought is the control bucket is outside the tent but the hoses have to go through a hole in the tent it's about knee height wich means the hoses aren't level with the holes on the buckets could this be issue ?

I have an awesome looking dutch passion mazar... she is still in vegging and nearly outgrown her 55L pot now ! woohoo! Feeding schedule is very basic of Cannazym and Canna A+B.... What possibly Could I add to her feeding schedule to make her thrive and get her even bigger before the flowering starts? Would Gogo juice apply or maybe even seasol? I have even thought of dropping some fish guts that have been chopped up and left at the bottom of the coco in the big 150L potting bag she is about to be transplanted into... would this make it way to rich of nutrients and burn her? suggestions guys!! If not because this is bassically a coco grow is there any other hydrponic n…

Hi guys, Some people are always looking to reduce their "stretch" period of flower. Extra light, light spectrum, lowered N levels etc. and sometimes even pgrs... I currently have about 10 plants which are 7-8 weeks old and still in veg, I have 6 confirmed females and 4 which I suspect as being male. Most of the females have been showing their pistils for several weeks now, the suspected males however aren't showing much more than little nubs some of which are pointy, the only thing I can confirm is that these are not pistils. Anyways I'm about to switch to 12/12, how long do I have before i need to cull these males? I'd like to be positive before removing them.

I put in a couple of freebie "Thunder Bloody Mary" seeds, one of them is a headless mutant. Or perhaps the leaves have merged around/over the leader.. hence the strange little leaf poking out of the stem. I don't have the right camera gear for decent photos but the ones attached should give some idea. There appears to be a shoot forming at the first axil, and I am tempted to let it struggle on the see what happens. Has anyone had one of these mutants and tried to grow it on? If I was to let the shoot get bigger do you think that the plant will think the new shoot is/was the original leader and continue to grow ok? Thoughts or opinions welcome.

Hi all, I have 5 SLH feminised seedlings in 1.5 litre coco, they're about 3 days old, and I have them under a small CFL lamp but they're really reaching for the light. Is it ok to put new seedlings under MH if I leave it up high in the grow space? If not when is the best time to do it please. Dimmo

Hi all, Well I have had my girls in the ground for few months now. 5 White widows. Got 5 regular beans, try to make seeds for winter and next year. And dumb luck paid off and I got 5 girls out of 5. Which is not what I wanted. So I ask beside finding a male to pollen then girls, has any one tried using Colloidal Silver Spray on them to get them to produce balls. I was reading a few papers on how they so call make 100% female beans. One of the methods they said they used was by spaying females with Colloidal Silver once they start to flower. Which .. long story short. Make the females turn hemmy, however the pollen inside the balls in only female pollen. It is not…

What are your guys thoughts on preserving hash in beeswax?? Im planning on making a bit of hash at the end of the season and was thinking if it was an option to make the typical homemade silk screen hash then coat it in a layer of bees wax to keep it fresh, and also as a stealth method. Because the wax and hash are at different levels of consistency i think they may be separable.. Whats the average shelf life of your average hash anyway??? Cheers

Hi guys, Long time between posts but I have just got back into growing. I am just vegging a batch of feminized Big Bang seeds to do my indoor/outdoor winter grow and I was hoping to cut some clones and convert one of these clones into a mother. Basically so I don't have to go to the hassle of buying more seeds and so I can keep a mother over winter and use her clones for an outdoor summer grow next year. Currently I am growing the Big Bang in coco under a 250w MH but I really want to simplify (idiot proof) my mother. I was just thinking of putting a rooted clones in a soil pot under a couple of fluro. Would this work?.....I want it to be low maintenance without a lot …
