Topic: Bizarre Genetically modified 'Marijuana food' contest could end prohibition by Dave Stancliff (Libertarian) Sunday, September 7, 2008 http://www.nolanchart.com/article4747.html Are you ready for some Cannabis cantaloupe? How about some Ganga Grapes? And don't forget the Bong Beans! These seemingly fantastical fruits and beans could be in your food lexicon some day according to a nationwide group of marijuana legalization advocates. Their having a contest to grow "marijuana food," where the winner (they claim) could easily be a multi-millionaire. All the organizers are looking for is someone to develop any common food that produces the active ingredients in ma…

I inhaled, admits Premier September 06, 2008 The Australian http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...0-12377,00.html FORMER garbo turned NSW premier Nathan Rees admits he smoked marijuana as a young bloke, but says it was never a habit. In his first full day as leader of NSW, the 40-year-old was asked if he had smoked cannabis. "Yes," he told reporters. "Many years ago. It has never become a habit or anything like that." Mr Rees also denied ever having ever smelt marijuana on former Aboriginal affairs minister Milton Orkopoulos, his former boss. Orkopoulos was sentenced in May this year to 14 years in jail for child sex and drug offences. Mr Rees had sa…

"Law without Justice is Tyranny" says cannabis campaigner PR Cannazine News 9 September 2008 http://pr.cannazine.co.uk/content/view/643/27/ The recent conviction of cannabis campaigner Neil Morgan of of Heol Tawe, Ystradgynlais, South Wales for the possession and cultivation of cannabis in his private abode, begs the question of exactly what is one’s Private Life under the Human Rights Act. Alun Buffry, a spokesman for the Legalise Cannabis Alliance (LCA) said after the conviction: “Mr Morgan grew and possessed cannabis plants in his own home - there was no suggestion of supplying others - in fact nobody other than police officers were involved at all. “There is n…

This free marquee event usually attracts well over 200,000 people in attendance and Hempfest ’08, Aug. 16-17, was no exception, if not the record—because the weather on the Seattle waterfront was perfect for a mass gathering! The total number of attendees might well have topped 300,000. Saturday was blazing hot, or as blazing hot as it can get along the shorelin…

The latest current updates(Sept 2008) of the Victorian Legislation The most significant change is the new legal requirements of reporting by doctors anyone who uses Medicinal Cannabis to the Minister totally breaching doctor/patient confidentiality and patient privacy which is leading to a situation where many doctors who are conflicted by the obligation are simply refusing to treat any one who admits to medical cannabis use See Part 3 section 7 http://www.cannabisfacts.info/sites/defaul...les/08-017a.pdf

50,000 signatures? 1 2

This is the response I recieved regarding the idea of submitting a petition to the Council of civil liberties. "That's a very interesting idea. I see two immediate problems, firstly that you would need a lot more than a thousand signatures to make an impact (eg 50,000), and secondly a lot of people would be reluctant to sign for fear of police follow-up. Current QCCL policy is for legalisation of possession for all the currently illegal substances, plants, pills and powders. In 1993 we made extended submissions for the legalisation of cannabis, as per below. I would have thought Getup (http://www.getup.org.au/)would be the best way to go about getting a…

New magistrate once ran for marijuana party MICHAEL BENNETT 11th August 2008, 8:15 WST http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?Men...ContentID=90444 Attorney-General Jim McGinty has defended the appointment of a new magistrate after it emerged yesterday that he had been a candidate for the Australian Marijuana Party at the 1996 State election. Paul Roth, who was appointed by Mr McGinty last week and will be based in Port Hedland, stood as an Upper House AMP candidate for the South-West. Yesterday he confirmed he had been a member of the singleissue party which advocated legalisation of marijuana but said he was no longer connected to the party. “I had a particul…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rimonabant To me it sounds completely terrible. Look at the side-effects section, it says because it's the opposite to cannabinoids it increases risks of Alzheimer's etc. etc. Why would anyone want to abuse their perfectly good CB1 receptor like this? Me thinks it's a government plot to ruin people's cannabinoid receptors so they can't get high anymore.

Prosecutors Threaten Pot Dispensaries Posted on: Saturday, 6 September 2008, 00:00 CDT By Allison B. Margolin Red Orbit News http://www.redorbit.com/news/health/154565...t_dispensaries/ Last week, California Attorney General Jerry Brown issued guidelines to regulate medical-marijuana-related activities in California. Ostensibly, he issued these guidelines to clarify the boundaries regarding patients, caregivers, collectives and law enforcement. Ultimately, however, the vagueness of the guidelines will only further motivate law enforcement and district attorneys throughout the state who are sincerely trying to follow the laws. In 1996, California voters passed Pr…

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...5-12377,00.html DOPE smokers have a 40 per cent increased risk of developing schizophrenia, and taking it regularly drives the risk up two-fold, Australian research shows. A new study by psychiatrists has reviewed the latest evidence of links between cannabis use and mental illness, concluding the association is "stronger and clearer than ever". A pot smoker is 40 per cent more likely to suffer a psychotic episode than a non-smoker, according to the review of major published international research. And for people who smoke daily over long periods their risk is 200 per cent higher. "On the world stage, Australians exce…

well I was pretty shocked when i heard about this. Even though I always thought the Iemma was a massive douchebag. Anyway the story goes this Rees fellow, is a self made left wing labour member, who worked as a garbage man before going into politics. Even more interesting is that before that he was a greenskeeper after finishing year 12. He's only 40 years old and is often described as 'street smart'. He seems like a good bloke, when he first joined parliament he was working under the minister for aboriginal affairs. Talk about a strong candidate for a spokesperson for medical pot. I'd be very interested to see his stance on my beloved. any thoughts?

A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth.
