The two Sydney detectives are being investigated by the Police Integrity Commission (PIC) which will air the allegations next month, Channel 7 reports. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? You try to talk to someone about medical marijuana & it's benefits, such as that it can cure practically all diseases when ingested such as shown in Run From the Cure by Rick Simpson, & they still try to say that just maybe the fact that it's the most medicinal plant known to man makes it alright but it's still bad if used 'to get high'. I even saw Montel Williams in an interview with Bill O'Reilly say that he supports 'non-medical' users being arrested & imprisoned. Fuck these selfish assholes & idiots. In reality there's no such thing as 'medicinal' & 'recreational' use of cannabis, it's the same fucking …

Times Online Author: Andy Hayman Date: January 27, 2009 Source: Times Online Copyright: 2009 Times Newspapers Ltd. The streets don't care what class drugs are Cannabis was reclassified yesterday from C to B. The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs is preparing to give its recommendation to the Home Secretary soon that Ecstasy be downgraded from A to B. I'm never sure which is more arbitrary - the fashion for uppers or downers that changes wildly with each generation of drug-users, or the fashion in policy-making circles for downgrading one year and upgrading the next. We need to scrap the whole classification process - it is outdated, not understood by the p…

BBC News Author: Jim Reed Date: 27 January 2009 Source: BBC News Copyright: MMIX Cannabis health risk 'not rising' Men who take cannabis regularly have a one in 5,000 chance of developing a disease like schizophrenia, according to one of the top drug specialists in the UK. But Professor David Nutt, who chairs the government's Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD), told Newsbeat the risk to mental health from smoking cannabis is no greater than getting drunk. "We've written three reports and read every paper published for the last 30 years. We do not believe the risks are going up," he said. "When we look at the evidence, we have seen a huge incr…

The Nortern Star Author: SAFFRON HOWDEN Date: 28th January 2009 Source: The Nortern Star Copyright: APN News & Media Ltd 2008. Pot less popular, but demon drink is worse WHILE Australians increasingly frown on habitual cannabis use, local experts are warning the bigger problem – alcohol – is hiding in plain sight. Public support for legalising cannabis has declined from a 1998 high as the country takes an increasingly dim view of the drug. A new study by the University of NSW’s Drug Policy Modelling Program shows only 10 per cent of Australians now approve of regular cannabis use, compared with one-quarter just four years ago. “The high watermark for su…

Hi all. I've been using Macs now as my home computer platform since 2000 and am pretty thoroughly converted. They tend to be more secure, less troublesome to setup and operate, and they have fantastic software. I thought it might be interesting to throw around some thoughts for any Mac users on OSA. Buying Apple hardware and software - My guidelines And yes, I've broken a few of these in the past, and learnt from them, so here goes: 1. Never buy the very first revision of a new Apple product - These are called "Revision A" in Mac circles, and refers to just launched products that haven't yet had their first bump in speed/memory/performance/price. At time of writing, t…

Why Obama Really Might Decriminalize Marijuana By John H. Richardson 23 December 2008 Esquire http://www.esquire.com/the-side/richardson...lization-122308 Turns out, with several drug-war veterans close to the president-elect's ear, insiders think reform could come in Obama's second term -- or sooner Famously, Franklin Delano Roosevelt saved the United States banking system during the first seven days of his first term. And what did he do on the eighth day? "I think this would be a good time for beer," he said. Congress had already repealed Prohibition, pending ratification from the states. But the people needed a lift, and legalizing beer would create a millio…

The Drug War's Collateral Damage
by jabez- 0 replies

Reasononline At around 6pm on January 27 of last year, 80-year-old Isaac Singletary spotted a couple of drug dealers attempting to do business on his front lawn. It wasn’t the first time. Singletary, described by relatives as territorial and a bit crotchety, did what he’d done in the past. He grabbed his gun, and walked out on to his lawn to scare them off. Problem is, this time the men weren’t drug dealers. They were undercover Jacksonville, Florida police posing as drug dealers. They had come on to Singletary’s property to bait possible drug offenders. When he brandished his gun, the police shot Singletary four times, once in the back. He died a short time later. A su…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.
Navigating the Digital Tempests
On its journey, OZ Stoners faced formidable challenges. Between Yahoo's unpredictability and the unexpected anti-cannabis stance of titans like Meta, steering the ship required a blend of adaptability, tenacity, and foresight.
A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
