Hemp derived CBD vs recreational derived CBD

Gokugonemad2

Question

I’m currently using some industrial hemp-derived oral CBD oil, with mixed results. The stuff is nice enough, works well when used on its own, but it seems to fight with any THC that is subsequently taken. It leaves u with a f**ked up Frankenstein kind of stone which is not satisfying at all. It also has a (less prominent) negative interaction with benzos and opiates. I have no doubts that this is a result of CBD blocking the pleasure/reward/dopamine receptors, which I have read about.

So as I kind of expected, you can’t trick ur body into thinking u’ve been taking a strain with a balanced ratio of thc:cbd. The 1:1 stuff I was previously taking was completely seamless, the thc and cbd got along just fine. All part of the entourage effect or what not I guess.

My gut instinct tells me that a strain like cannatonic or AC/DC (1:20 thc:cbd or thereabouts) will beat the hemp-derived cbd hands down, in all areas concerned. I envision more terpenes present and I reckon the small increase in thc content would improve everything, and round off the sometimes hard edge of straight cbd (for me it’s often a little racey/stimulating),

Anybody have any experience with this? Have u compared both types? Happy to be told I’m wrong, even happier to confirm that I’m right but any light shed on this situation would be absolute gold. Once again I don’t see much genuine conversation about this stuff online. Cheers guys

Hey .............,

So your unicorn is a he/she? Having 2'n'1 makes so much easier for it to go fuck itself lol and it can make a cake too? Lucky you. I had to get a wife for all of that. A unicorn would be much cheaper PMSL lol Maintenance of a wife can be SO expensive lol

OK, Enough of that. She might walk in and see what I'm writing and slap me lol I wouldn't deserve that either

lol Merlin

Hey goku,

I’ve got a 20:1 named “candida /CD-1” this season from the breeder medical marijuana genetics. The two Phenos are sativa 20:1 and indica 10:1 but never thc over .6% from memory.I’m really keen on getting it tested somehow once it’s ready and will look into the kits to make that happen. I’ll send some feedback on how it goes as I’ll be using it for moderate pain relief. I currently smoke super lemon haze CBD as my 1:1 but want to knock down the high as much as I can so I’m not so affected for housework/ life with kids while I’m medicated. I’m my experience the 1:1 helped me get off some shitty opioid pain killer called palexia sr most of the time except for extreme flare ups.

Hey Rake, seems like U and me are in exactly the same boat. I love the 1:1 aswell, but am now thinking a 1:2 cbd heavy strain would be more than enough to stay medicated while dealing with wife, kid and chores. The 1:1 has kept me off opiates for the last year, prior to that I had almost daily headaches, for a decade, and took way too much ibuprofen/codeine. I much prefer the weed, it’s kind to my liver and I basically don’t care what anyone else has to say in that regard :)

Candida hey, now we’re talking. I know the strain, the same company has a bunch of other options that have good looking/sounding genetics and there’s a few that have more stable genetics (only 1 phenotype not 2). I would be very interested to hear about how ur project goes, especially if u get some testing done. There’s so many dead-end threads in so many forums, supposed grow journals where the guy/gal just doesn’t come back and report about the completion. U have some interesting genetics there and a really common kinda general application for them..I reckon ur feedback would be worth a lot, for a lot of people out there. Cheers

Yeah I don’t like the sound of it either Merlin lol. Thanks for the links by the way, I’m gonna be trying at least one of ur methods. Nightingale seems to be an alternative option to candida, when I had a look at it. Yeah same seed company. Has a 1:1 pheno and a 1:20 pheno, and candida is it’s mum, crossed with something recreational.
