Medicinal marijuana sale approved by Federal Government

Most farmers pay a water tax on their dams, $50 each, adds up when you have a few, and a drainage and water ways charge if you live in the wrong spot.

All government charges go up way more than inflation, eventually they will own it all, and you will pay for the pleasure of using everything, natural or not

That must be a new one, I'll have a look in the 17/18 Tax Guide when it comes out, cause I've never seen or heard of that one.  Could you quote me the chapter and paragraph in the guide for it if it's actually current so I can see where I missed it?

They do however get great depreciation write offs etc for all water/irrigation asset costs.

Big irrigators like cotton farmers likely have a bunch of charges associated with their water infrastructure, but they are not within the tax system.

It depends on your definition of a tax, every farmer where I live has to register their dams i.e. pay money, if you irrigate out of your dam you pay $300+ for the pleasure, there is no infrastructure here

I have to pay a water ways and drainage charge to Melbourne water even though I live nowhere near Melbourne

these are all taxes, any fee, fine, levy, charge, non voluntary contribution are

The tax system comes in many different forms, perhaps you should have a look, have a look at the definition of tax while you're at it

"Tax" is very specific to the tax system.  Rates, levy's, blah blah blah, are all forms of taxes in a manner of speaking, but are not technically referred to as taxes.  The Tax System here in Aus is specific, and there's a big arse book comes out every year about it, if it's not in that book it's not really a tax.  What you are talking about are revenue raising systems put in place at local and state levels, and they are NOT part of the TAX system.  If it's not processed through the ATO, it's not a tax under the definition of Australian Taxation Law.  Water management is not under the control of the ATO in any way shape or form.

Of course, if you have higher accreditation and more experience in Taxation Accounting than I do, I shall bow to your superior knowledge, but I seriously doubt that you do.  So you can accept that my explanation is correct, or you can put shit on my knowledge if you prefer, it's up to you, but it would be a bit stupid to argue over a technical definition vs a layperson's definition, which is what I'm doing now  :D.

Revenue raising, and beauracratic  red tape are things that are done at all levels of government in an attempt to gain control and benefit of everything in society, and any canna stuff that ever happens here will become victim to it as well.

If it looks like a duck, quakes like a duck, waddles like a duck, its a flucking duck.

Any contribution to any government department, local state or federal is a flucking TAX. I don't care what your government sponsored book tells you, if they are "all forms of taxes in a manner of speaking", than they are a TAX

No GST on rates because they're a TAX that's what little Johnny and Costello said, I'll take the treasurers and PMs word for it thanks

You being an accountant, and dependent on the rules for a living, would be quick to defend them(rules that is) to the rest of us they're all taxes you cant avoid

Next you will be telling me Santa's not real and the Easter bunny is really fat cat dressed up :faint:
