Are millipede's a problem?

Recommended Posts

these are pretty much composters but millipedes have a dark side !

Google

Millipedes are detritivores and slow moving. Most millipedes eat decaying leaves and other dead

plant matter, moisturising the food with secretions and then scraping it in with its jaws. However,

they can also be a minor garden pest, especially in greenhouses where they can cause severe damage

to emergent seedlings.

Centipedes are good (but ugly) bugs. These predators feed on pests such as slugs, symphylans,

spiders, flies and cockroaches. Usually yellow to reddish brown, they're flat-bodied and have one pair

of long legs per body segment. With at least 15 pairs of legs, centipedes are not true insects.

I added the pic of my plant, would it be a harm to that, thanks btw

be pre-emptive & have regular sprays of neem oil

as a pest prevention rather than waiting for pests to turn up

if you add aloe & or silica to the spray the plant gets a health hit

with a prevention hit at the same time , silica can also work as your

emulsifier if using 100% oils , rosemary oil as a pesticide & thyme oil

as a fungicide are other essential oils you can use in the garden

No 1 rule with oils never ever spray at sun up , will fry your plants

No 2 rule have a test plant you spray days b4 spraying the important plants

No 3 start with low amounts (drops) & work your way up , rosemary is very strong &

you'll need less of that than other oils & will do damage if you use to much

neem is pretty good as is fine as the only pest oil you use

i've been using NTS 100% certified organic neem http://www.nutri-tech.com.au/factsheets/nutri-neem-100.pdf this is not emulsified & has no directions of use on the lable

google search should find a few to choose from

bunnings off the shelf eco neem pre- emulsified , ready to use , this is easiest to use & works fine

but in my opinion the above is a better product & can be made better with emultion choice

i use NTS Potassium Silicate http://www.nutri-tech.com.au/factsheets/potassium-silicate.pdf

& add aloe vera = grow your own aloe plant or pay for the 200x aloe vera powder http://aloeveraaustralia.com.au/aloe-vera-powder.html
