merl1n
No, it has nothing to do with sex The fatter leaves tend to be more an indica trait, where the thinner leaves tend to be a sativa trait Hope it helps Merl1n

tootyboots
I have two starters, one has 7 leaves and the other has 5 wider leaves.Does this mean anything?Has it got to do with the sex?Never had a fat 5 leafer before Check the point where leaf join the stem. If between these leaves(at their base) there is more than 1 hair cilia, like small follicles, you should have a female. If there's only 1 cilia follicle,it's a male.Destroy any male plants asap. Never heard that one........ Check the point where leaf join the stem. Tootyboots.......here is a pic of the stem of the 7 leaf plant.Would you say it's male? image.jpgimage.jpg In the first pic you can see a little 'pod' shaped thing at the base of where the branch intersects with the stem. The photo isn't detailed enough to be certain of sex but this little 'pod' is what you should concentrate on (and/or others like it). It does look to me quite like a female calyx but until the pistils (white hairs) emerge you can't be certain. The number of hairs that emerge from the calyx is variable and means nothing. If it is a male this 'pod' will multiply instead of producing pistils and it will become obvious that it looks quite different to a calyx with pistils coming out of it.
Cantgrow
Little update:They still look the same. Just 1at each base, no hair as of yet.I DO however have small green grasshoppers eating them. Not any other shrubs in the garden, just the two weed plants. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the little hoppy pests?

Ford Fairlane
All good mate, they will flower properly soon. As for grasshoppers, I used pyrethrum on these ones last week with no dramas at all.
