auto flower strains evolved from the cannabis ruderalis, a fast but short growing plant from very far north of the planet around the 60degree parallel on the globe, it will flower after 7-10 weeks no matter what light cycle they get and they have very little thc. they were crossed with cannabis sativa and cannabis indica to create much smaller plants for indoors.

I recommend never using auto flower strain to breed with as most of its progeny will have same problem.

depends if you want the auto trait or not .... sweet seeds have done some pretty nice crosses recently a few member have grown them.
