this is a run down,. however this is designed to sell the policy rather than state all the facts.

 

the main focus is definitely on the boat people, however this relates to drug importation and every facet of border protection. i hope we can still get seeds in. also they are going to have much more power to gather info

i think most of it is to scare people into not ordering prohibited packages into australia.

 

they are supposed to have tight customs laws as is and people get all sorts of contraband sent in.

 

no different to any other countries border security, as long as he is saying it, people think it is what he is doing.

 

As a test, if you could place all imported goods for just 1 day in a pile and then expect the government will sort through it before it gets delivered by the postie on his bike, think again.

 

Not to mention all imported goods that come in 24/7 365days a year
