I am pretty sure I have read this this was one of hunter S thompsons books is that correct ? if it's not thats a great book about them too same title

nah its a different book that your thinking of Pure.

this one is written by sonny, who was a pres of hells angels for years.

 

Imo hunter s thompsons hells angels was pretty shitty, bummer cause I like some of his other stuff

just finished this little beauty!

 

Sonny Barger is one  of the "original" hells angels. He basically built the club to where it stands today, and revolutioned the way the world sees bikers and the way the 1% world run their clubs.

This is a self narated story of his biker life. Sonny is a very likeable and personable dude, and this is a very easy  and entertaining read.

 

the book covers everything through his establishment of the Oakland chapter, through the trippy LSD hippy era, the legendary rolling stones concert, his run ins with the law, murders, drug deals and jail time, as well as his throat cancer

 

whether all the story's are true or not, I don't know, but I always say.......never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

I read that book about a year ago and thought it was ok but not the best autobiography in the world - I would rather borrow it than buy it (which I did).

yeah, great book. sonny barger is an icon. there are way better biographies, but i didn't get it to just learn about sonny. i was mainly interested in the history of the hells angels.
