Could legalising marijuana save the US economy?

Recommended Posts

I know that at times it seems this wonderful plant could do so much to help the planet, but saving the american economy i think it could help it in that it could be a viable and profitable industry and last long beyond many others, but their economy is so big and so vast and so . . corrupt & so violent. that it is better that it never recovers. IMHO.

I love the cyclic nature of the natural world, currently i see the system we live in as fruit that has fallen from the tree and is rotting ( current day ). It will get uglier and stinkier ( future ). But it will provide the nutrients for what will grow afterwards.

If they stop their wars. . . if they pull their troops which are overseas home. This is the alarm bell, i was reading a book not sure which one but it said something to the effect of.. every empire that has collapsed, a common indicator of imminent collapse was that the soldiers who were fighting in distant lands were called home, within a couple of years of this event the empire was gone.

I agree alchamist, as are many other economies. If people think cannabis is some holy grail to base an entire ecconomy on or to drag one out of dept they probly need to drink less. It's an awsome plant with many uses but the holy grail of econmic wellness? I doubt that very much. Those problems run much deeper than cannabis can ever fix alone.

The US needs to stop printing money (as does the rest of the world) to save itself. Stop giving money to those criminal bankers who are getting richer by the minute at the expense of the workers. A cannabis industry would go a long way to helping but until the governments harden up and let the cleansing happen, it will only be harder when the world monetary system flushes itself down the toilet. Riots, anarchy, blood on the streets. It is a very serious problem.

Huge cannabis crops would also be good for the enviroment, absorbing all that CO2, the diminshing, rain forrests cannot do anymore.

Gordon Gecho was a wanker. Greed is NOT good.

China will emerge from all of this as the world monetary super power.

Ok off the soap box brick.

thats far from true frazz, historically the only conflicts the u.s has ever participated in are those that the u.s govt can make vast fortunes from ...... if they stop their wars/etc they will lose a lot of $$$$ ....

are you a certified nut-case or is it just a full moon when you start talking rubbish? :protest

if you want to call bullshit on me then get your facts correct, cause your quoted statement above, demonstrates your utter and complete ignorance and lack of knowledge of current US affairs

what you know about the US economy and the wars the US is presently embroiled in could be written on the back of a postage stamp ind00!

the US Govt makes zero profit from the Afghanistan or the Iraqi war

*41 US states and the District of Columbia are projecting budget shortfalls for FY2012 totaling $102.9 Billion. This amount could be wiped out entirely by the amount spent on the war in Afghanistan this year ($122 Billion in FY2011).

*To date, $459.8 Billion dollars has been allocated for the war in Afghanistan, this includes all of the funding that has been requested by the President and appropriated by Congress for the war through the end of the current financial year to September 30, 2011

*To date, $807.4 billion has been allocated for the war in Iraq, including $10.1 billion in financial year 2012.
