Lukes next grow...

Now I'll show a few shots of the individual flower clusters. Some of these shots are better than others, but you can make out the basal stalk of the male flowers, and how they form and mature out of the clusters. They then open out, usually facing downwards, and hold the pollen sacs, or anthers, out to the wind and release their pollen. The pollen is held in clumps, kinda like little micro bananas of yellow fine dust, which will burst out and fly away at the slightest breeze.

Only one pollen grain is required per stigma to pollinate a female plant. I've had a look at pollen through my microscope, breifly, and it's so tiny that even at 300x it's little more than a black dot. I'll try and get a shot of some once this lot is fully shed and I've got a moderate amount to play with for ya.

Another note when playing with males and pollen. Be scrupulous in cleansing yourself. Shower, fully change clothing and everything about you must be spotless. Don't do all this and then walk straight into an area which has pollen all over it either. lol You can kill pollen which may be stray, using a simple bleach solution of about 10% in water. Although it doesn't last too long in the environment, less than a week I think, it's quite potent for that time. And so tiny you'll likely never see it even if you've got substantial amounts all over ya. So yeah, keep that stuff away from ya gals at all times. Unless you want seeds of course. ;)

Aaaaanyway, here's some closer shots of flowers and clusters of flowers. ;)

And the last one. This is of the plant, fully bagged, and waiting to shed. The plants left with the bag on the side somwhat, so that any shedding happens out into the bags base, rather than running down into the area near the stem. It's simply done up with sticky tape. ;)

Anyway, I'll do an update of the GR proper, and the female, (hopefully... ;) ) seedlings in there, as well as the clones I took of the BW. Hope you've enjoyed this, and I'll be back with new shots later on. I've decided what I'll be flowering, and I've got a few new ideas to ask some advice on, so I'll cya later on tonight. ;) lol

Clones were taken from a revegged plant, which had to be culled before it could truly sprout out and vegetate. I have a feeling it may actually be more beneficial to clone small than large, as you can start and train the plants from day one in their new environs.

Anyway, this was a strain saving excersize, not really a clone-for-flowering exercise. ;) And the temps were kinda high, around 35 some days.

Take it easy italian, I'll show ya some shots of the clones later today, and you can see they've almost all rooted and taken, (bar 2, which were unlikely to make it anyway, so I'm not fussed), and are about to get themselves a new home in pots. ;) lol

Oh, and I've decided to investigate the male's pollen shed today. Unless someone here can convince me to leave it longer, I'll be opening my male's catching bag this arvo.... Speak now, or you'll forever hold your peace... ;) ;)
