What's the best way to start seeds.

Cheers for all the replies guys, it's very interesting to hear everyone's preferences.

I germinate with a variation on tissues and plates and then plant the seeds into small pots of coco and perlite.

I stick my seeds in the corner of a glad sandwich bag, then add a 2-3 mL of water...

sometimes i add just enough miracle grow to make the water change color to a very light blue.

I sit the bag so the seeds are submerged in the water...I leave the bag in a dark place.

I check the bag every morning, afternoon and night before bed...

before too long they are ready to be planted. I plant them carefully with tweezers.

so I've folded my moist paper towel over the seed, stuck it in a ziplock sandwich bag, couple extra squirts from my spray bottle for good measure and put my heat pad upside down on top to keep it warm and dark. now... what ph should my tap water be adjusted to and is it ok to bung a few ml of this rhizotonic? or is that overkill?
