when i was racing remote control cars i used an old UHF radio fan and just wired up a 240V plug to it, to cool batteries as they were charging. Of course it was a 240 volt fan but, i can't stress enough not to do this unless you know its a 240V, 50htz, 10 amp fan, even so its still pretty risky.

although you could buy 240V or 12V fans fron the place i was racing at and other hobby shops, try hobby shops, dick smiths, any electronic stores, your bound to find one.
