Recommended Posts

hey kids,

i thought i may as well put a couple of pics of my baby girl up. she is my first and it's been one hell of a learning curve. she was given to me as a house warming present. I received her in january, as a tiny stalk with a few leaves and put a whole lot of TLC and this is how she looks now. I'm just not sure how much longer i have to go. anyone got ideas? im in SA. i do know i'll get bugger all bud because of it's late planting but cant wait to taste the fruits of my labour =) couldn't have done it without the OS and all the blokes who gave me their two cents worth!

well, yr plant seems to be healthy. perhaps there is a hint of nutrient stress visible in the leaf profile (I mean sideways on. I see a leaf bending downward and then levelling out again which was typical of my over-N'd plant. and I see some curling at the tips of other leaves.) however yr plant seems generally healthy.

if I recall correctly yr plant is in shop-bought potting mix which is probly not too fertile but it's too late to change that now. the low sunlight hours are a problem now too, but why not try an application of molasses? that is: one teaspoon per 9litre bucket of water. this will stimulate whatever bacterial life is in yr soil.

put the whole bucketful through. each time you water/feed you need to soak the whole of the pot. (weed loves a flood as long as it's feet don't stay wet for too long.)

if you feed molasses you must stop feeding thrive. try the molasses and post more pics (similar angles) in, say, a week.

yr plant has got a long way to go. perseverence furthers!

:peace:

Thanks Sheep,

I spose I'll cross that bridge re the smell when it happens. I have no idea what I'm in for, so worrying about it now would cause undue stress, here's hoping I don't blow a heart valve or something between now and then anyway ;)

Also the girl has been hovering about a foot or two over the fence line now since christmas (not as bushy though), the old Greek couple and their family always stand on their back porch looking my direction and wave every time they see me so I think if they'd been any interest in the plant I would've known about it by now.

I can honestly empathise with the disappointment of having a plant ripped now. After all that time spent on maintainence and stress and then to have no reward would be even more distressing!

Nice outdoories guys  :bongon: Peace. Gh72

G'day Hopper. So, it's raining in GopGop, nice, from what I heard you guys need it. A bit of rain probably will do the girls a world of good. Also is the shelter you are using available somewhere retail, Bunnings etc? Might be a good investment down here to get an early start next season. :guitar:

G'day Glenn. Just hang in there mate, it will be over soon and you can enjoy the fruits of your labour. To see all the work and attention that you give your grow and then to have some lowlife cocksucker stiff you, yep, it's distressing for certain. :guitar:

Hey Aunty Norm, yeah greenhouse available at bummings in 2m x 2m $199 or 2m x 3m $299 (mine). Made by Hartman . "Greenhouse in box" its called. Its proper commercial greenhouse grade cover. Blocks 90% UV and rip proof with good fittings and zips.

Have tried cheap ones before but the frames are crap and the stitching and zippers break.

Can really recommend, stormy today, stood up a treat. Peace. Gh72
