All Durban has gone to shit mate, its meant to be a load of shit now, not the fine dope old people tell stories about, the dutch have fucked it just like most things.

If I was gonna buy a durban I would go for the Early Durban from The Flying Dutchmen, I know its only 50% but in my opinion The Flying Dutchmen has the real deal. Old genetics that havent been too destroyed.

They would have real durban x indica, while others will have shitty inbred retard durban.

Thats just my opinion, but I have heard many bad things about durban, Canna-Biogen in spain are backcrossing some old spanish durban poison plant I believe, I reckon that would be alot better than the DP Sensi versions.

Thankyou for your advice. I have read these sentiments about dutch breeders before. I am puzzled by their actions, surely it would be counterproductive to their goals to degrade their strains. Has it been a by product of breeding for the indoor grower. I have been growing outdoors for 30yrs and find myself increasingly in the minority.

What would you sugest would be a good sativa to buy. I am interested in a potent clear up energising mind stone. something suitable for oid hippies who have't the surplus energy to fight couchlock. I don't care about yield, apperance etc. Only substance not style.

Try out some flying dutchmen stuff, They mainly sell sativa x skunk hybrids. Shit like Swazi Safari (south african x skunk), Kerala krush (south Indian x skunk), Thaitanic (thai x skunk), etc.... So very heavy sativa, around 90% sativa.

They got damn good seeds, The kids would call them "Old School" strains. The pure thai is quite heavily hermaphrodite, As all pure thai's are. They are all bred for outside growing.

For extreme potent sativas you need a haze hybrid, i've grown a few because of the fact they are so potent, but this year I realised I don't like hazes that much, they make me grumpy and paranoid.

Some nice hazes, Jack Herer!!!! - sensi, Western Winds (kali mist)- sagarmartha, Super Haze -dutch passion (cheap)

As for the Dutch, it is wrong 0f me to say they ruined cannabis strains, as most of the original seeds came from the US where strains like skunk, big bud, etc were common as fuck, The dutch tried hard and did alot of great work and without them, there would be no decent pot around today.

They've done alot better preserving pot than any other country.

White Cluster, you're the dude I want to talk to!

I've been trying to tack down a specific strain for three years now, and the closest I've come to identifying it is a haze strain, although that was from guess work, not someone that has grown it.

I bought an oz from some stick dealer at a ridiculous expensive price. he claimed it was from SA, this was bought in Caloundra QLD. It was white-ish, possibly what you might call silver-ish. I've never encountered weed like that, and although a few have said it was prob. mould, it certainly wasn't. I've grown long enough to know mould when I see it. It smoked a touch harsh, but not mouldy.

The stone was more like a trip, which is where most have commented it might be a haze (from a strainbase description I'd say). A seriously small race horse number caused myself and my wife to circle the room for hours just like a tab would. Sometimes it was just too much, given that we had a baby that wanted our full attention, and I fully believe tripping is for kids, not old foggies like me.

We've smoked for years, but haven't ever come across anything like it. It was tight, but very light and easy to crumble. Possibly from using superbud, not sure about that but.

I'm personally too old to be tripping around the room anymore, but have considered this to be an excellent strain for growing commercially (theoretically of course).

So, given your experience with haze strains, can you help me at all with what I've told you? I plan to get hold of some in the future to try (haze), but I've been waiting to meet someone such as yourself to comment.

Also, I understand herer is a low yeilding plant, is this common of all haze strains?

Thanks heaps

rob

ps, my wife just told me right now, that although she (nor I) felt grumpy, she did feel pannicky and uneasy/paranoid. She tells me she kept thinking "this is too strong, this is too strong" B).

Can't help you on the strain, no buds really make me trip, but hazes do come close for a trippy

As for wierd crazy pot like you describe, A few years ago, (maybe 7-8) I smoked this yellow pot, which wasn't like pot, it had no hairs really, it was a bit like foam out of a longue or something, smelt like chemical filled skunks. tasted like shit. and selling at $600 an ounce off a real poor guy on checkerboard hill (god knows how he got it).

Anyway smoked a cone and went to pack the next up and my mate wouldn't let me, i sat back for 5 minutes and then I experienced what couchlock is all about, I was tripping heaps and everything was real slo-mo, I greened out cos the telly was too loud and woke up laying in the middle of this guys floor hours later.

And that is the reason why I buy strain after strain pretty much, to find that pot, but after all the "best" strains I've grown/smoked i'm starting to think It was all a dream.

As for haze, it is potent as fuck though, for strains I bought anyways.

I have a huge tolerance to all pot and this is no different, I'm smoking haze buds right now, Super Silver Haze, they we're excellent on first smoke but too much indica. But when I smoke it with others It is great too watch and listen to the cunts ramble.

But the main effect I get is paranoia, definately not something I can go and socialise on. I think haze's and that definately are the reason marijuana is linked to schizophrenia. I can feel quite uneasy around people when I've smoked too much haze, and I keep rambling shit even though I feel embarrased about the shit I'm saying and wanna stop talking......

Maybe thats just because I'm a fairly depressed guy, and just like tripping you need a happier outlook on things.

Anyway, pure haze is not available, the closest thing is Nevilles Haze, which is one of the most expensive strains out there. Haze takes 4 months to flower and yields very little, it is not any good for commercial growing, and I wouldn't try growing it outdoors lower than sydney or inland. It is very resinous like you say though.

Also most hazes are fairly hermaphrodite, I got at least one in every hybrid I grown except for Super Silver Haze.

The strongest haze I got(had) is jack herer and she has windy loose buds, same with western winds, but super silver haze and super haze both have averagely tight buds, but not tight like some hard indica shit.

Anyways all hazes stretch alot. I usually grow em on a table and flower em after a week, and expect 1/2 of usual yield and an extra month or two.

My suggestion for a good cheap try of haze is dutch passion Super Haze, it is quite a good yielder for a haze and suprisingly good smoke for a budget strain. Its a hermy strain though.

Hey whitecluster, what about the Flying Dutchmen's "Original Haze"?

You have commented a few times on this seedbank and I've read other good reports on it as well. And their strains seem fairly cheap, ranging from 20 to 65 euro plus about 10euro for shipping which is like $40 to $120 aussie dollars I think. The Pure is only 20euro and ThaiTanic is 30.

Sounds like pretty good value to me.

Original Haze is actually haze x skunk, but the skunk plant they use is a special skunk plant that was chosen because of the fact it doesn't add many genes to the progeny, Its un-dominant or something, I forget the word, anyway, its close to pure haze I guess, but its not suitable for breeding like they say.

The Flying Dutchmen are great guys, They send you long replys in broken english to any questions you ask.

And as well as that they run huge test fields (over 10000) and yeah, the strains are just fucking great, I can tell you I'll definately try some more.

I'd really like to try The real Mccoy, and Kerala Krush, and early durban.

Kerala Krush as far as I know is the closest thing to south indian cannabis out there. And south indian cannabis was supposed to be the smoothest, most well bred sativas there was. The only other seedbank I can think of that uses south indian strains is Greenhouse, and they don't use much of it. oh and its in haze.
