Yellowing from the bottom up?

Recommended Posts

I've got one girl that's about 2 1/2 months old in a pot outside, she's about 3' tall and seems to be going OK but lately I've noticed the leaves are turning yellow from the bottom up and the leaf stems are purplish. Is this an NPK problem? I thought the new potting mix should have been ok for a few months?

Cheers

Stem leaves (petioles) purple = stress

general yellowing 'bottom up' = recycling nitrogen

Plant is experiencing stress due to growth outstripping nitrogen supply. Feed plant extra nitrogen.

Is your potted plant protected from rain? If not, it's likely much of the available nitrogen has been flushed from the pot.
