Some people say cut the roots off

The plant above was flowered in a 9litre pot and required a root trim around week 3 of flower. The self watering pot had a little water holding compartment at the bottom which I lightproofed and stuck an air line into. Whilst not finishing with completely straight leaf it wasn't far off and had no problems with half it's roots getting the chop half way through flower :scratchin:
