Growth Technology - Oxyplus (mine is 50% H2O2)!

Hey everyone

 

I am just about to start my first DWC ScrOG Cabinet grow but before I start I want to try and sort out how to use all my additives and shit that I have bought. I want to try and germ my seeds by soaking them in a solution of GT Oxyplus. I have found numerous posts and info regarding the dosing for 3%, the old 35% and the supposed new 17.5% H2O2 concentration. I had assumed that my bottle would be the 17.5% but I just read the label and it says 50% H2O2!!!! I tried to take a photo but the print is quite small and my camera must be too old for the job!

 

It says on the directions that 2mls per 10 litres should be added to the nutrient solution every 2-3 days.

 

2mls per 10 litres!!!!! How much do I use in say 300mls of water to soak my 2 seeds???? (2 drops??)

 

I'm guessing that maybe I have the latest version and they have decided to sell it super concentrated so that a litre of the stuff lasts heaps longer kinda like laundry powder???

 

But why would they originally sell it with 35% then revise to 17.5% and now apparently right up to 50%????

 

Can anyone help me out theres no way it could be a typo on my label!!!

hey u4r1k,

yeh im using oxyplus for my plants atm, i'd say just give it a drop, if u use too little it wont hurt, but if u use too much u dont want to see abnormalities (though i cant be sure what too much oxyplus will do).

same as urs, directions say 2ml per 10L

 

now that i think about it 2 , maybe 3, drops shouldnt be a problem in 300mls of water

id put the 2ml into a 10litre bucket of waterthen decanter the 300ml you need. Use the left over to clean pots, meters/ probes with a tooth brush or maby even soak the pumps and filters for a few hours.. Using drops into 300ml water your sure to over do it probally burning the roots.

yeah I decided against using the H2O2 for germinating I'm just doing the paper towel between two plates method seems easier I just added 20mls of Seed 'n' Clone and 2 drops of Superthrive to 4 litres of tap-water then brought the pH down to 5.5

 

I'm soaking my Rockwool cubes in this solution and I also used this mix to moisten my paper towels. I think I'll use the H202 later on I think it would be counter-productive to add it to my soaking mix cos Seed 'n' Clone has organic elements to it which would be destroyed and I'm assuming that Superthrive is also derived from organic sources??? ....Does anyone know?

 

BTW I will soak all my pumps and shit like you said thc24 that sounds like a good idea might just circulate it round through the system using the submersible pump in the external res before I use it it's my first grow so it shouldnt be too dirty in there but better safe than sorry!

Yeah mate I've never heard of anyone over-doing it and I cant find any posts of what happens when you do. From my understanding the major thing to watch out for is the fact that it's basically an antiseptic and it kills all bacteria whether it's beneficial or not. So you have to watch what you mix it with.
