So have these little bastards been feeding any one elses arms,legs and face yet............ went to go transplant the autos to bigger pots today after work and when i got stuck into it i swear i had like 50 Mosquitoes on me at any given minute... got hectic bites all over my arms and legs.......... hope my face dont flare up to much tommoz b4 work...

Not sure where in Oz ya are but were I am in SE Qld, the mozzies have been bad for some time...

 

Only time they aren't too bad is for a month or so mid year but they are pretty much a problem all year round IMO.

 

I do my best in my yard to prevent the lil buggers from breeding but it only take the guy next door to drop the ball for your own efforts to be meaningless.

 

We had a bad plague at one place we lived at. The guy next door hadn't tended his pool for a long LONG time. It was green n stagnant and FULL of mozzies. We never dared go outside without wearing the ol' aeroguard!

 

Ah well. Nuff of my ramble.

 

Just remember to put on some aeroguard, or you preferred stinky stuff, before you go outside.

 

You could also do like I have started doing and grow some mozzie repelling plants. I love my citronella geranium!

Dengue fever is a scary lil fucker!

 

The most I worry about down here is Ross River, it's not all THAT prevalent, but it's still around and if you get it you've got it for good.

the little bastards are everywhere around my place down here in tassie especially in the bush,but we dont have dengue fever or ross river virus down here so its not that big of a deal except for the itching,still i fuckin hate the blood suckin little pricks

The mozzies aren't so bad round my place at the moment.

 

The leeches on the other hand are just scary, I was standing in the bush the other day and wondered why the ground looked as if it was flowing. Turns out a living carpet of leeches was headed towards me from all directions, dirty little bastards.

The trick here is to get really really high!

That's right .. mosquitoes don't tend to migrate above a certain altitude (Can't remember the figures on this sorry , but It's not too extreme from memory).

So .. there ya go , just keep smoking until your on cloud 9 (Say high to Monkey for me - Shwooooo .. Swooshshwooshswooshswooshshwoosh!) or alternativly .. Find the nearest mountain-top and setup camp there

yeh, the ground does move when leaches r about, they can sense ur presence and then move in from all angles, theres no ecsape from the little buggers!
