Sawyers Summer Grow 08/09

Recommended Posts

very impressed with your grow Sawyer, I was thinking of putting some of my clones from my indoor grow outside to see what happen, now sure if it is too late in the season up here in Byron Bay but after seeing your grow I think I will find a nice patch of lantana and get to work!

Did you plant into the soil in the ground? And did you do any trimming/shaping. Awesome grow btw!

I planted her straight into the ground when she was about 25-30cm tall. Any smaller than that outdoors and they are rather vulnerable to ants/bugs etc. Note that she had shown her sex by this stage so I was confident in not having to rip her out at a later date.

This is the pot size (4 inch i think) on left of photo.

I let her get over transplant shock for a week and then tipped her, and then again several weeks later. I think I kept tipping every 10 days or so until she was about 4ft high and getting nice and bushy.

Cheers

Hi Raven,

It's a bit late in the season to be putting anything outside. It's probably not worth the effort. You'd be better off spending a bit of time scouting to find a nice spot for springtime.

You're on the right track with the clone idea though :peace:

Ahk cool.

So what was the soil like where you planted? Anywhere near me is hard clay and very sandy soil.

Loved this read such a shame about the flood tipping your lady over. i hope u didnt loose much stickyness in the bud. how does it taste hope u didnt end up with mudbud.

Hi Darken,

It had survived flooding earlier in the season, but she couldn't cope with the extra weight during flower and just toppled over. I'll learn for next time I guess and put a stake or two in. Fortunately I was there in time to salvage most of it, and ended up with a minimum of muddy buds. I just used them for cooking anyway.

Syd_nis_sil,

My location is next to a creek and has really dark, rich alluvial soil. It's crawling with worms too ;)

If the soil in your location isn't suitable, you could try carting in your own. Alternatively you could grow in pots. ;)

Your lucky. Yeah at the moment my baby is in a pot with good soil with the pot buried level with the dirt for some stealth. It needs a bigger pot though. The roots are warping the soil.

Well done ~sawyer~

enjoy the fruit of your labors.

 those are the hazard outdoors, but when it is added to by the annual outdoor grow it provides that break from the many indoor attendances to your indoors grow. The is a difference in the pot grown-out doors, It's an outdoors taste.

lol

Nitty.
