Ballast/Light NOT WORKING!

So tonight i turned the light on but thought "hang on ill quickly get some snaps for the diary", it was turned on for 5-10 seconds max! was still dim, hadnt even warmed up so i unplugged it thinking it would be ok. Now when i try to plug it back in the light doesn't work and the ballast just keeps making a ticking sound.

 

Does anyone know what could be wrong? I'm 2 weeks in flowering and can't afford a new ballast at the moment.

might of blew the globe .......is the globe showing any colour or flickering

globe doesn't do a thing at all

If the ballast is buzzing it is trying to turn on the light, normally, It sounds as thou it could have blown the light.

Try leaving it turned off for 10 - 15 mins then try it again. Often they won't come on again straight after they were turned off. Some will eventually arc again if you leave them on some won't. I don't know why.

I've never had a HPS or MH bulb that will come back on immediately after switching it off, usually takes a couple of minutes.

thanks for the replies guys, ive left it for hours now and still the same problem. ballast only makes a clicking sound, there isnt any buzzing or anything else.

 

I may have to go and buy a bulb today and hope it is that and not the ballast, i wouldnt think it is the ballast though.

 

Is the clicking it trying to start the globe?

How old is the ballast?
