And with a solvent being warmer its flash point it higher in other words u get a lot more fumes coming off the solvent and those fumes are a lot easy to light and for absent minded it can be a screw up waiting to happen...

ok, I wasnt saying extract the THC in water... I dont know who got that Idea, I said the alcohol would have the THC once the smoke had passed through it.

 

Then evaporate the alcohol, the water at the begining of the cycle was to cool the smoke! so you would not blow your self up.

 

and have the whole thing air tight, pretty much like having multiple chambers for bongs.

 

I can see the the risk with the alcohol+fire=BOOM, but if it were air tight and no fumes came out what then?

 

I dont want to soak bud in vodka, that would be full of chlorophyll and defeat the purpose of the extraction.

The closest you are going to get to that is by extracting the essential oils from the buds (ie. the oils in the trichomes). The easiest way to do this is with butane. You can use other solvents like alcohols and different hydrocarbons or super critical CO2 for example, some of which you may be able to further concentrate the THC from using column distilation but if you just want to get stoned, why would you bother is my thoughts on it.

if you want pure thc then convince your doctor that cannabis is the best treatment option for you and get him to fill in the TGA papers that will allow you to import sativex or what ever brand of the shit you want. if you cant be bothered doing all that then the closest you'll ever come to making it yourself will probably be making some oil and evaporating it over time. im pretty sure i read somewhere that really good hash oil can have 80% thc and thats when it is a little runny. i imagine that by letting it evaporate a little that would only make it further concentrated

I understand what u are getting at leafy, there would be some THC that get into the alcohol but there will be so little that it would not be worth it and if u smoke with spin then there other nasty things that u dont want mixed in with it that could get in with the THC...
