as has been said..dobbing people in is unaustralian... to be called a dobber was a big insult not so long ago...

 

all this crimestoppers TV show and shit is unfuckingbelievable...and imagine what happens when the govt. gets people used to doing it.....they will expand it from drugs to any minor crime like a car parked in the wrong spot....or dob your neighbour in for using water when they arent supposed to!! (we are still on level six water restrictions here in brissy)..everyone will be looking over their shoulder all the time...Big Brother will have each of us policing each other!!!..thats fricking insane!!!

 

what will the government do next?.....remember this.. "all of the governments have let all of the people down all of the time"

We have the posters for this campaign up at the local mall here and it really annoys me because it's simply a way for the cops not wanting to do their own job and instead turn the public into narcs working for free.

 

Also it really annoys me how they just use the word drugs, and the TV commercial for this campign shows a heart monitor going dead and then says "another life lost to drugs, turn in a druggie".

 

Well alcohol and tobacco are drugs and they cause loss of life and white sugar is a drug too, I see kids totally acting like brats at the supermarket until their mom gives them some candy and then they are all calm until their sugar high wears off. And what about perscription drugs ?

 

I don't agree with this campaign at all, but if it has to exist, rather than just saying "Dial in a Druggie" they should make it something like "Dial in a meth user" Again not that I agree with that, but nothing pisses me off more than lumping in all drugs togeather.

 

I honestly think what needs to be done to make this campaign fail is for as many people as possible to phone in with false reports. This will tie up the police and cost them time and man power as they will have to investigate all claims. So from a payphone, we should call this number and give them the addresses of places we know drugs are NOT being used, like old people's house, or someone you know that all they have is viagra and heart medication or some super religious family that would never have drugs in their house and so on. And then when the police come knocking on all these non-drug users doors and harassing them, these people will complain and cause noise. Making false positives is the key to killing this IMO !

 

Or call them up and tell them you know of a major drug dealer that has all kinds of drugs and openly sells them and is always trying to get more and more people to buy from him and so on and then give the addreess of the bottle shop, after all that is a drug dealer !
