Spectrum 130W compact flouros

Hi all

I was wondering if it is possible to do a complete grow from veg to flower with a Spectrum 130W CFL?

My local hydro guy usually knows his shit and has never lead me astray before and he said he tested one in an area of H:120cm x W:90cm x D:45cm, with 2 nice plants with great results. He used the 6400k bulb.

Due to current living arrangements, this size area is all i'm going to have to work with.

I have been using a 400W HPS for many years now and is perfect for my usual grow area, and as much as

I would like to use it again, I don't want to burn down my new temporary home.

Any help would be appreciated.

maybe do an intro post in the intro section??

doin a grow with just fluoros is posssible

although yield will be small spindly buds

id be more inclined to go 1 fluoro per plant

yeah ive never seen a floro grow that had a "good" yeild meaning anything over a oz but have at it ill keep a close eye out for it leds are a great way to go with low heat and low energy cost never seen one but am waiting to see one i just got some led bulbs for my flower room Edited March 17, 2007 by fsagertyaef

if i was you i would be going 2 or even 3 of these fluro's if you went 2 you would have 260w and 3 would be 390w with a single one billo is right you will get spindly fluffy buds but add another one in there and you will get more yeild and chunkier buds add another one and you will be using almost as many whats as a 400w hps yet wont have any of the heat issues

On the other hand, I've used 400 watt HPS in that size area before (mother plant in a "lowboy" cupboard ) without burning anything down. it's not going to be secretive though is all, and that may be what's got you concerned ?

 

If so, maybe 150 watt HPS?

150w HPS are very hard to Find in 220-240v.. if any body has any links or places to purchase please post them.. them enviro lights are aroud 60-120 dollars..

 

 

I have a Friend who recently set up his Cab.. 70w MH aquarium light.. 150w Security HPS and a 6400k Enviro Light for Clones and Veg of Next ..

 

Yet to Yeild Results.. he Grows to decent Hight with the CFL while floweing with his HIDs.. when he reaches 1/3 of his desiered Veg Hight he changes it over to his MH.. then soon flicks it over to HID.. the MH Moves and the HPS is stationary (moves in two positions.. Up or Down)

I think you would be better off running your 400 in that space with an enclosed air cooled hood or cooltube.

I know that sounds odd, but the tip (not really local) a few miles away, has this section that sells things they reckon shouldn't be used for land fill. They get some great stuf there, last week I got a flood table for ten bux. They get all manner of stuff, but last time I was there, they had a dozen or more lights. 150 watt HPS. They only wanted 10 bux each for them, butbeing broke as I am, couldn't justify biuying them when I had no use. I wanted to, simply because they're so unusual. ididn't know they were THAT unusual though.

 

Don't know if they're still there, I'll let you know if they are.

I read about your lucky tip excursions on another post recently, and have since checked my local tip. They too have a section like you described, but there was nothing there along our lines of interest. I will now keep an eye on it in the future. Thanks for the tip. Hahaha
