Hemp Hand Protector Creme

bufo marinus

Question

Not sure if this has been posted before

Had a friend come visit and brought some hand creme for me to try.

post-11113-1169797968_thumb.jpg post-11113-1169798087_thumb.jpg

Never been much of a hand creme person myself but this stuff seems as good as any.

Initially a bit greasy like most hand cremes but felt great after a little while. My friend recommends it and says it has helped with her dry hands and she is not really a smoker either

Smells good too, I like it...., wonder what a sniffer dog would do? It sort of reminds me a little of cannabutter smell?

Reading the ingredients on the back says contains Cannabis Sativa !!! What the fuck??

Made in the UK, available in Australia from The Body Shop? I'm a bit backwards, my friend tells me they are a chain store in most capital cities.

From wickpedia - Cannabis sativa, also known as hemp, is a species of Cannabis. It is a dioecious, annual herb. It has been used by humans throughout recorded history for its fiber, for its psychological and physiological potential as a source of drug material, and for the nourishment and oil of its seeds. Different parts of the herb have different uses and different varieties are cultivated in different ways, and harvested at different times, depending on the purpose for which the herb is grown.

I was reading in yesterdays paper about a hemp trial in my local area and found Hemp does have THC but farmers must keep the amount below 5ppm. It was an interesting article, this bloke is harvesting in 8 weeks compared to 6 to 8 months, with 30% bigger seed and 50% greater yeild (Outdoor).

"Their success came from isolating the crop from a chemical it is usually exposed to in soil and irrigation known as sodium silicofluoride, which has appeared to inhibit growth and increase THC content"?(maybe a typo i think, this is more than likely Inhibit THC and increase growth).

peace

Ahh ok, a low THC content hemp variety of Cannabis Sativa then?

I found it a little startling to read it as an ingredient, good as well :xcited:

HAHA, dry some out mate, and give it a whirl... Hmm, maybe not. Not to keen of the sound of glycerin and alcohol.

But yeah. i've heard of The Body Shop, i wonder how they get around legally getting it into Oz.

Indy 20 year ago I could have told you if eating it got you off or not :scratchin: but these days I'll just try it on my hands thanks, hehe.

I'd like to know how they proved it was low THC as well, and how they went about importing it?

Is there some sort of loop hole they know of? Amounts etc?

hemp and hemp products are not illegal in Australia in fact I don't even think its sale is regulated at all. In terms of what is classified as hemp according to the law I believe the governement have a max THC% they allow and if your hemp crop tests above that percentage its a big smack on the bum. I assume any imported products have to meet Australian standards. :scratchin: Edited by pipeman

Hmmm, this stuff is made in the UK, similar sort of regime. Obviously some sort of testing must take place but the crop is a long way from the finished product ?

I assume any imported products have to meet Australian standards.

So they must test it somehow? I wonder how often it would need to be tested?

Like if I started importing Bufo's Cannabis Sativa Chocolate Flavoured Hemorrhoid Creme and after a while the THC content mysteriously rose to cannabutter levels, how would the authorities ever know after the initial test ?

the thing with the hemp industry is, a lot of them aren't stoners and actually despise cannabis smokers because we cause people to associate hemp with drug use which hurts the commercialism of their business. So if you were involved in the selling of any kind of hemp product that could get you high it wouldn't be long before some do gooder rings up the pork brigade I reckon.

I articulate my contempt for the hemp industry more fully in the following topic...
