I think I got the wrong Netpots

That's it! I'll drill the holes. Thanks pipeman you gave me an idea there, as I was trying to cut holes with scissors and it wasn't working. A drill will be much quicker.

 

billo - those 140mm ones seem to have a much wider spacing than the 200mm pots even though its the same company, stupid I think. I have one of those 140mm pots and the holes are perfect (what I expected with the 200mm ones)

 

I guess I will be doing alot of drilling soon

If it's DWC, then an initial water level of just above the base of the pot, like 1 or 2cm deep, is generally recommended, with the final water level at about 2-3cm below the base of the netpot as the roots reach the water and begin to really drink.

 

Make sure you have a good airstone with a long length for maximum diffusion of oxygen as the bubbles break the surface.
