I wanted to ask you guys about outdoor infared survalence. What is a safe number of plants growing in one plot? i was thinking two or three. I will be planting along side of trees and in very dense spots. I really want to be as safe as possible. Does anyone know how many plants in one area would be safe? or how many plants in one spot could be detected? thankx guys

The best thing to do is to stay away from helicopter flight paths and to spread them out as much as possible, as for how many in an area you have to consider how large the plant will grow. The police can't afford to use helicopters for locating small crops, your biggest worry is that someone may find out about your crop and dob you in or rip you off.

helicopters sporting infa-red will usually have a black box strapped to the side thats pretty visible from the ground and choppers looking for outdoor crops usually in australia will be in groups of about 4 give or take and make numerous passes and totally canvas the area from the sky.

whichever way you look at it theres always the chance you can get spotted from the air, a friend of a friend recently got busted by an off duty police officer flying around in an 'aero-light' small air craft. the cop seen the small crop of FOUR plants and reported him, pretty scummy.

There was an excellent documentary on Pay TV last night - I think it was on Discovery Channel about the LAPD and their helicopters. They showed how they used tracking devices, infra red and night vision to track drug dealers. They didn't only concentrate on coke and hard drugs but even showed an MJ bust too. They also train their officers to shoot back from the helicopter after a recent increase in the druggies shooting back at agents...

Thanks for the help guys. I got some more questions. If anyone could help me that would be really cool. If there was one plant by its self that was blended in with brush, is there a good chance of it being detected? Do you think the cops would even bother with it? I am thinking of doing several plots spread a good distance away from each other planting maybe two seedlings per plot. What do you guys think?

You should be pretty safe, but keep alert. Here in Tas there is a higher chance of being ripped off than of getting caught by the cops for a grow of that size, if the cops do stumble across them they just pull them up and take them away, sometimes they even leave a card, they only put the big crops under surveillance here.

a mate of mine once showed me one of those cards that was nailed to the tree where his plants one were and the note read somthing like ,we have ripped your plants if you would like to collect your goods please come to .........police station.what smart asses but he didn't get busted thats the main thing,just don't go mad or be silly and you might be lucky if a passerby dosn't ripp them atleast it wont be the cops.happyherb.
