not much by the sounds of it because i changed the wires the fan ran in reverse

 

That is a very dangerous statement and i recomend that no one ever use them for fans!!!

the light dimmer i have ive used it for months with a 250mm bath room exhaust fan not a problem didnt even burn out also used the same dimmer on a sunon fan once again worked fine didnt even heat up

its 165watts and i think around 0.38amps

if the direction of current flow through one winding is reversed the resultant magnetic field rotates in the reverse direction..

so that means you changed the direction of rotation of the motor is reversed by changing the direction of the current flow thru one winding...

this is done by exchanging the two end connections of any one winding..

 

so what that maen gaz is that you did not follow what i told you to do..crossing to wires over means nothing.. but i f your diagram is right then what i told you to do will work...

 

i still think that it is not a two stage fan but hay if i wrong then what i have said will work...

when its wired up colour to colour its in reverse do u want meto reverse the nuteral and live? ill give it a pass the fan has only one speed
