For annuals with crop above ground a waxing moon, or growing moon is the best time for planting seeds.

Preferably in a fruitful, or semi-fruitful sign. Water (fruitful) Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, Earth (semifruitful) Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, Air (semibarren) Gemini, Libra and Aquarius, Fire(.barren) Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.

The moon grow from the new moon, and decreases from the full moon.

The next new moon is 22nd Sept the moon will be in virgo, an Earth sign, then on the 30th, still growing, it will be in Capricorn. These both represent good opportunities, especially for the outdoor grower.

The next time a water sign will be with a waxing moon wont be until 20th Nov, new moon in scorpio. That sounds like a great time for those late in the outdoor season....much better than throwing them in a few weeks earlier.
