From the horses mouth? Perhaps H*E*M*P should refer?

motivation?

its black and white, nothing to do with motivation.

information is all around us, no excuses.

stupid people make stupid mistakes.

Takes an honorable person to admit mistakes.

anyone who grows, gunna grow, comsumes the herb.

Is next in line to make it right from this point onward whether we want to or not.

I know im there, whether i like it or not.

Hi again,

67Special.

Oh he will be back, if 40+ pages of ample opportunity to redeem himself is any indication. Instead we have 40+ pages of someone failing to address any of the specfic points that highlight major flaws in their reasoning and credibility.

Its quite easy for him and others like him to sit there and regurgitate the same lies and unsubstantiated claims about cannabis and hydroponics over and over again. Spreading FUD. - Fear Uncertainty and Doubt.

Its easy not having to explain oneself - however it brings into question ones credibility and any moral standards one might have.

Its not about us supporting NHE, its about them supporting us, as they have benefited financially from the selling of HEMP products and merchandise for some time. The NHE dont have a leg to stand on in this debate.

They have a responsibility to honorably redeem themselves publicly. No one forced them to be political activists, but I believe we would most likely have been better off without them.

Research based on scientific and medical research open to intelligent and logical debate is the best kind of activism. Not a hippy pipe dream about how good it was "back in the day".

Perhaps the reasons they have been unchallenged up until now is because no one would think for a moment that this kind of direct attack on the cannabis community would be sourced from within it.

BigBongs ego mania has instead brought to my attention whats written in plain black and white for all to see.

  • That they are a major contributing source of written reference demonisng any cannabis grown indoor and hydroponically.
  • This fanatical distinction isolating and discriminating against indoor growers from people claiming to be cannabis avocates is likely to be the only type of its kind in the world.
  • I will repeat it again. The reference is itself considered unsubstantiated by a government funded paper for the purpose of providing unbiased research that will ultimately affect policy.
  • However this didnt seem to deter politicans and prohibitionists who jumped on the opportunity to legislate harser penalties for cannabis. Backfiring any self deluded intention of influencing any positive reform for cannabis and the war on drugs on a whole.
  • And as we all know if any truth about the dangers of hydroponics has any merit. Then it brings into question all produce manufactured by this method.

This logic is obvious to most of us here,

Ive still yet to finish going through this paper and then there is one other to go through as well. Ill keep you posted.

OK this will be the last post covering all instances of "hydroponics" in this research paper.

just a reminder of the paper in question

http://www.ancd.org.au/publications/pdf/rp...s_questions.pdf

Published eary 2006. So its very recent.

About ANCD:

"The Australian National Council on Drugs (ANCD) is the principal advisory body to Government on drug policy and plays a critical role in ensuring the voice of the community is heard in relation to drug related policies and strategies. Membership of the ANCD includes people with a wide range of experience and expertise on various aspects of drug policy, such as treatment, rehabilitation, education, family counselling, law enforcement, research and work at the coalface in community organisations."

There is only two specfic references to hydroponics in this paper:

First instance.

4 .3 Hydroponic production

The term hydroponics refers to the growing of a plant in an indoor environment under artificial light. A 2001 report by the Australian Bureau of Criminal Intelligence (ABCI) notes that growers may perceive this as an attractive cultivation method because higher yield can be obtained from fewer plants, light and soil conditions are held constant, information on growing procedure is readily available from hydroponic equipment retailers, and visibility of the cannabis crop is decreased.(71) Although hydroponic production usually occurs in private residences, there have been police seizures of large amounts of cannabis in warehouses.(71) As yet, there has been no systematic investigation of whether hydroponic cannabis is stronger than naturally grown cannabis or whether it is associated with a different pattern of effects or harms. One concern about hydroponic production is that growers add potentially harmful chemicals, such as fertilisers, pesticides and hormones, to plants in a bid to increase crop potency.(72) Whether or not this practice is widespread remains speculative, while the long-term health effects of such exposure have not been researched. There has been recent speculation about headaches and migraines resulting from the smoking of hydroponic cannabis, in addition to concerns about possible associations with cannabis psychosis.(72)

Amounts and strength of cannabis in use today

Evidence-based answers to cannabis questions: a review of the literature

Little is known about the percentage of the Australian cannabis market that is comprised of hydroponically grown cannabis. The 2001 ABCI report notes that approximately 90 per cent of seizures in South Australia in 2000-01 were hydroponically grown. In Tasmania, this figure was lower but still substantial at 38 per cent. Although these figures provide an indication that the domestic market proportion of hydroponically grown cannabis in Australia is substantial, more systematic evaluations that do not rely solely on seizure data are needed. Although hydroponic production leads to higher yields from a smaller number of plants, high amounts of electricity are used in the process. One interesting consequence of this, also highlighted in the 2001 ABCI report, is electricity theft by growers. This is achieved by diverting electricity from other sources with specialised equipment to avoid detection.71

So thats it for this entire paper all 98 pages only 2 specific reference to "hydroponics"

Interesting.

Ive commented enough about Nimbin Hemp Embassy and its afiliates on this issue.

Perhaps they 'demand' research in to hydroponics, however theres mountains of research dating back to the 60s that claimed links with cannabis and psychosis - remember the famous 'reefer madness'. The merit of these research papers is not the issue here. What is, is that the cannabis used in this research was likely to be mostly if not entirely grown outdoors. So any attempt by them to distance themselves from hydroponics and indoor cultivation by dumping the whole 'psychosis' link on hydroponics is futile.

But im sure alot of you guys can draw your own conclusions about it.

One more ANCD paper to go.
