Thanks for that Gazza, I'll check that site out, we have a good hyrdo shop in NZ, that have a few shops located throughout, so I'll compare prices. It would probably cost me more in the long run buying bits and pieces here and there so maybe I should just save for a complete unit.

you do know that u can buy a light from australia if NZ's main is 230-240volt or buy from america if ur power is 110-120volt all u need to do is work out what one u need than change the plug

Thanks for the info Gazza, I might just buy a kitset from this new zealand firm called switched on gardener sog.co.nz. I can pick up a 600w kitset for $295, like this one.

 

Just have to save some $ now, but thats going to have to wait until after we shift.

Yea, just thought 220 plus postage would probably turn out better than $265... probably enough for an extra six pack. But it all depends on the quality of the ballast.. crappy cheap ballasts should be avoided. My 600w is orange and looks really dodgy, but runs with no problems at all ever and never heats up much. I gotta get rid of it though after this grow or two..

Check it out... I just remembered I found this... I wrote it when I was a newbie to MJ growing, still am... but its all derived from facts read from many multiple sources, and just had a skim through it and it still looks good to me
