Hey folks Im considerin a digital ballast purchase would like to pick your brains . Theyve been out for a couple of years at least so reliability issues should to some extent be known by now Im hoping.. From what i can make out... Pro's They run on less power.... thruth? Theyre dimmable... wheres the advantage here? If you buy a 1000w will run anything from a 400w mh to a 1000w hps...... clear advantage Programable even with remote.... could be handy... Cons Price Questionable reliability... ? More prone to water/humidity damage.. So what do you's reckon and what's your experience been with digital ballasts? Cheers -RiverRat-

Hey there, Putting together plans for a new grow box, I'm going to be building this from scratch and somewhat needs to be stealth, the dimensions for the box will be 2ftW x 3ftL x 3ftH giving a total of 6ft squared, I will be growing from seed in 70/30 coco perlite (hand watering) and will be using this space for vegging and flowering. My concern is lighting this box, last grow (1st ever grow) i managed to grow 1.7oz off 3plants scrogged in a box 2ftWx 1ftLx 3ftH using only 24W CFL's 3x 6500k for vegging and a combo of 6x 2700k and 2x6500k for flowering (70/30 coco/perlite, hand watered) i was running 2x 120mm computer fans for extraction and 1x 120mm on intake, i had r…

Dropped in to a local Westaflex store and picked up a "MixFlo" inline fan. Price was only $115 for a 150mm fan. I also got a 300VA fan controller for it ($27.00) The fan is a little loud sitting on the bench running, but when using with the fan controller it quitens down a lot (as does flow of course). I'm keen to hear it once I get it installed with carbon filter and insulated ducting - but that has to wait for now I was surpirsed by the prices I got, as I thought they were quite reasonable. cheers G ...

Hey there, Just looking for some advice for a grow room. Wardrobe is W50cm x D55cm x H150cm. Went to a grow shop and got some advice from the dude, he thought 400w Lucagrow would be OK. He rigged up a quick test in a tent he had, about the same size as my area with a computer fan. Temperture sat at around 32C after about 15 minutes running (read 28C is about optimum), said he'd swap it for a 250w if it wasn't any good, but he's got none in stock. Found him really helpful although I've checked the grow calulator on cannversity and it came back with the below stats. I've also read lumens per square foot is min 3000 to 10000 average, which would put it in the 250W (30,0…

So i looked up the canaversity calculator, and it said for my cupboard to ventilated 49 cubic feet a minute, 1 cubic foot =28 litres, so 49x28=1372L per minute. Is that correct because to me it aeems very excessive, j was gonna put an 8" centrifugal fan on both the inlet and outlet of my box. But there around 350L a minute... Help? Please.

Hey guys, Been awhile since i've posted! I have a some questions to ask; I've found http://www.ausponics...t-growlush.html this HPS which is the difference of getting 2x 130w 2700k CFL or 250w HPS to going along with my already bought 130w 2700k. I'm wanting to hit 300-400w I don't have the biggest height (approx.1m) growbox. I am looking around for wardrobes, dressers if needed.. What are my best choice for 2-3 plants including heat? and where do you get the best prices for a 250w HPS?? Cheers guys & girls

Im looking at replacing my 400w HPS bulb soon and getting a spare for my 600w, Both are HPS Ballasts. Tossing up between getting a 400w son-T agro HPS bulb, or a MH conversion bulb? I will be using the 400w mainly for vegging, and the 600 mainly for flower so will stick with HPS for that What do yas think the best 600w HPS bulb is? Looking at getting a Son-T or any other recommendations? DO ya think its worth getting MH conversion bulb or should I just stick with HPS and get a 400w Son-T? Opinions appreciated

Hi Guys, Just a quick question, how much heat should a balast generate? I'm just in the process of fitting out a new wardrobe and have begun heat/noise trials. My drobe is approx 500Dx1200Wx1600Hmm internal grow space, I have a 400w HPS in a cool tube being cooled by a 100mm inline. (I'm still not happy about this, the guy at my local store talked me out of centrifugal and into this, it seems ok at the moment but it is first on my upgrade list) So, for the trials I have just sat the balast on the floor, but I have notice it is generating some serious heat, is this normal? It isn't in the direct light and the box is maintaining a nice 27c about a foot above floor lev…

Heya Guys , well Summer is goin Bye -bye's and most are getting ready for their new grow....Woot Woot! But when was the last time ya ripped the duct off and had a good look at the fans internals and the carbon filters condition? Dust and Debri is a major contributor to electrical fires, once it builds up it blocks airflow and can cause over heating. Here's a shot of mine, was mounted in roof and the inlet from manhole in room, 200mm Centri, 250x500mm carbon Filter, so shouldn't be a lot of dust and stuff eh? Well Guess again...............6 months use after clean....... and this is what I found... As you can see on the carbon filter, the panels are choked with dust e…
