Hi all So I would light people though on shades. I don't run cool tubes as I have not heat issues. 3 m roof plus fans and Aircon if needs. I started with the old school bat wings, and over time changed to the round china man hats as I call them, aka dome shades. I have found that the china man as total shit. So I get the fun of buying new shades. As the shades have faded so loosing reflect, and as I said before the total shit. I have seen a few online shade that look like my old bat wings but there silver tinted and dimpled. Has any one or does anyone use them. Any recommdation on shades. 3x3x3 room run 3-4 girls Thanks

Hey peeps, I just need help on choosing what intake and exhaust fan I need for my small grow tent. My grow tent measures 0.9Mx0.5Mx1.6M with a 260Watt CFL lighting setup... I plan to grow 2-3 plants. The tent also came with a 160mm clamp fan for circulation. Can I just use a 120mm or 150mm ~200cfm computer fan for intake? And maybe a 200mm ~450cfm or ~250cfm inline fan for exhaust? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers! - diab

Hi all, Going to setup another grow area - a large fridge. And I'm going to chuck my autos in it. Just two plants. Thinking of just using an 80w Phillips CFL with reflective shroud, and maybe put a second in there depends how they fill it out. And using the cfls for flower too. Or should I use 1cfl for veg, and buy a 250w ish hps and use that for flower? Dunno if this would be worth it or just use the setup for seedlings/clones

Hey guys, I got my self a 400W grow lush energy saver ballast and 400W HPS light, to grow 1 plant in a spare toilet i have out the back. My main question is what does the dial on the ballast do when i turn it to the far left or far right? It makes some noise when i tested it. is this normal? I have a K-Train plant from green house seeds. its just a seedling and a few weeks old atm. Been growing it a combo of outdoors and under a normal fluro at night. 50% og kush and 50% Trainwreck. How young can you put a seedling under a HPS light? Growth seems very slow atm, i think its because of the cold weather. Cheers for any help.

Hey folks! Did a quick search but didn't come up with much, just the odd mention of them. But... What's the deal with UV lights? As a kid the whole 'growing marijuana/hydro' thing revolved around images in my head of big warehouses filled with smelly plants, confusing machines and Ultra Violet lights everywhere. As I grew older and came across websites such as this I realised it's not the case - however the odd movie does show UV lights being used. Is it a myth? Do they work? Are they effective? Anyone used 'em? Just curious. Cheers, Brownies.

Hi All Has anyone had any experience using LED lights. Am looking for a way to reduce my power bills, and have heard that LED is the way to go. Will just have to work out the ratio of blue, red and yellow.

Aiming to add a HPS to the fridge any day now, finances are limited. Does a cool tube make a huge difference keeping things cool? I suppose the real question is to wait 'till I can get a tube, or splash out now and add one later . Cheers

Hi all, Now I have been made fully aware of the inadequecies of all who grow with LED's, can we just say right now that you're scorn and derision has been noted, and your presence is no longer required here. After doing a bit of research, I never actually found anything that would preclude me from using them.In fact, the biggest problem I found was trying to find information that wasnt obviously biased etheir for or against for whatever reason. I think I may have found some at one site that seemed on the level, and if so, taught me more about LED light ing then I did over the last two weeks; 1W vs 3W vs 5W There are various LED wattage ratings, the most common used…
