hi all, i apologise if you're not allowed to do this but i have a 400w metal halide grow light, comes with ballast, bulb and timer. in excellent condition, the bulb has been through 1 season of indoor vegetable growing don't know the lifespan of an average bulb but i imagine that there's still some life in it yet. it's about two years old. $110 + shipping, if in sydney we can arrange to meet somewhere. if interested, please PM or e-mail me. cheers!

Just found this from a car magazine, bit expensive but might be worth a look for stealth growers, would be great to run from a solar/battery set up. http://www.hidlights.com.au/

hi all just bought this wicked timer and thought i would let you all know about it it's a Ringgrip programmable electronic timer which you plug into the powerpoint then just plug the ballast into the timer. firstly it has a time display (digital display) and can set days/hours/minutes it can be set to 6 different timing cycles (programmed into memory) so 6 days a week you could have your hid's running at different times and lengths or you can just have 1 setting to always switch on/off at the same times or turn on/off at certain times of the day it also has a built-in rechargeable battery and a daylight savings function. it cost me about $26 (aud) and i bought it fr…

I might be jamming 3 pairs of 4' flouros into one half of my grow space and am thinking if I grow like this and then add a light shining horizontally in to the plant from 2 foot away may be as good as training/tipping too late *less plant stress*. Has anyone grown a plant normally and flowered it by using horizontally directed light and seen a good yield? I know you wont be distributing the peak growth of all bud by not training/tipping but will it make a decent yield compared to a light from above in a tall cupboard *imagine training went wrong and you had tall plants to flower with one major light source - its all about the ounces of tight bud*? Can the light use as m…

Im sure this has been asked and answered many times, however I havent been able to find what im looking for browsing through the site yet so I figured I may as well just ask. Im after a detailed website or detailed post or e-mail with information about connecting lights to the same power cords... I would much rather have one or two power leads coming out of my grow then half a dozen or so... So any ways to connect multiple lights up to the same lead would be great. Anybody with any sites or documents with any great light information like requested above feel free to send my way as when it comes to playing with power although im not to scared... I would like to know w…

Ive wondered this beofre so now Im posting to find out what others think. I have been told to at the beginning of flowering hit the plants with 100% of the available light you are going to use as this opens up the potential budding sites....and will give you a better yield Is this true? Or can I do what some others have recommended and start of (lets say for example) I have 3000 watts of light....a 1.5 x 1.5 metre area...will the yield be affected by only using 1000 watts for the first couple of weeks....then adding another 1000 at the 2 week mark and then anther 1000 two weeks after that.... Advice appreciated

I've got an old 4 foot flouro fixture that was found in a closet in an old rental house. Its an old one that weighs a ton. I want to shorten it to a 2 footer but aint sure about internals. This one has a big heavy ballast type thing that i aint seen in other flouros. So now i'm just wondering if anyone has any knowlege of flouro fixtures or can point me in the direction of some pics it would be much appreciated. I think all i need is a basic wiring knowledge to see if i need this big heavy black box.
