g'day; the Australian governments, including state governments and councils are guilty of increasing the black market sale of illicit drugs. alcohol was prohibited in the 30's, results caused moonshine running and black market bootleg alcohol sales. marijuana was declared "enemy number1" by Nixon.(drugs to be exact). during prohibition of alcohol, the black market increased in sales of illegal alcohol.the government imprisoned 1000's of ppl. since alcohol prohibition ended, the black market in alcohol is almost non-existant. the so-called 'zero tolerance' policy of the Australian Liberal government. is a major cause of the 'black market' of drug sales. because marij…

VICTORIANS driving into New South Wales may have their cars randomly searched with sniffer dogs. NSW Police Minister Michael Costa will today announce a 12-month trial giving officers sweeping powers to pull over cars and conduct random drug searches on cross-border highways. Police have been concerned about the amount of South Australian cannabis being trafficked into Sydney along the Sturt and Barrier highways. Mr Costa said the trial would also help fight the trade in heroin between Sydney and Melbourne via the Hume. Police would be required to get Supreme Court approval to mount operations of up to 72 hours. The operations must be within 100km from the b…

The Great Unwashed. The incidents below are similar to the rather abbreviated life of a cruiser built by Vickers at Barrow. After their Lordships signed the contract, the Company went flat out for nearly three years, from go to whoa, to deliver the ship with all systems operational on the scheduled date. Initial trials were commenced with a number of Company personnel on board. Within 24 hours she was on the bottom. Why bother? HAVING A BAD DAY? READ ON... There was a case in one hospital's Intensive Care ward where patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning, at about 11 a.m., regardless of their medical condition. This puzzled the doctors and some e…

To minimise the harm associated with illicit drug activity there is close cooperation between the Commonwealth Government, the State and Territory Governments, the various police services and other law enforcement agencies. Included in these is the Australian Customs Service, which has responsibility for the enforcement of laws controlling importing and exporting of illicit drugs. PRESS RELEASE - 30th December 2002 TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY PROPAGANDA STILL HAS SHADES OF REEFER MADNESS The Nimbin HEMP Embassy thinks that the NSW government new anti-cannabis propaganda campaign may well work to achieve the opposite. "Young people are so cynical about government drug advice they're just as likely to do the opposite to what they're told", said Michael Balderstone, spokesperson for the Embassy. "Already we think prohibition creates a forbidden fruit syndrome in the case of cannabis which encourages young people to experiment early." "Decades of reefer madness nonsense have so damaged the credibility of official drug advice, the government has got it…

A prominent Territory lawyer has called for the introduction of a monitoring body to oversee the Territory's new Drug House laws. Colin McDonald, QC, said last night he had serious concerns about the legislation. He said the owners and tenants of drug houses had no rights under the laws to test the evidence before a Drug House sign was posted at a premises. The legislation states that homeowners and tenants are to be given no warning that the property is about to be declared a drug house. The hearing depends on the police commissioner presenting both sides of the particular case in question to the court. But Mr McDonald last night argued that the Police Comm…

Toronto - The federal government is moving quickly to quell uncertainty over Canada's drug laws by appealing an Ontario Court ruling that threw out a marijuana charge on a technicality. "We were aware of the uncertainty the decision created so we thought we'd move as quickly as possible," federal Justice Department spokesman Jim Leising said Friday. Leising said the appeal was "expedited" following the decision Thursday by Justice Douglas Phillips to side with the teen's lawyer, Brian McAllister, who argued that the law that makes possession of marijuana a criminal offence is effectively invalid in Ontario. Notwithstanding the ruling, the Controlled Drugs and Subst…

Police Commissioner Paul White is planning to target drug use in the Territory on a similar level to drink driving. Mr White said yesterday he wanted Territorians to develop the same intolerance to dope as they have for drink driving. Mr White told the Northern Territory News that he believed the Territory had a real and dangerous fascination with drugs. ``I think it's a concern for the Territory _ I said it from the day that I arrived and you hear all the excuses in the world as to why we shouldn't be putting the focus on illict drugs but the reality is the Northern Territory drug usage rate is higher than anywhere else in Australia,'' he said. The 2001 Nation…

REGULAR use of cannabis by children as young as 14 is increasing, prompting a push to highlight the negative effects of the drug. The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) yesterday warned of the dangers to young users as the NSW government launched a statewide ad campaign to combat the problem. NDARC information manager Paul Dillon said the number of young people using the drug was growing and many wrongly perceived it as harmless. He also warned more young people were using bongs, or water pipes, instead of joints to smoke cannabis. Using bongs forced more smoke into their lungs, possibly increasing the risk of cancer. Young people were largely una…

POLICE and the Government are claiming a decisive victory in the war against drugs in the Territory. Yesterday NT Police Minister Paul Henderson told the Sunday Territorian that drug sales from two of Darwin's most notorious drug-dealing premises had all but ceased. Mr Henderson said drug sales had been severely reduced at No 1, 165 Dick Ward Drive in Coconut Grove, known as Speed Plus, and the flats at 33 Lee Point Rd in Moil. "I have just spoken to the drug squad officers and they have said that it has been vastly reduced in terms of its operations," he said. "There is still a bit of activity around them -- I would say that it has all but ceased." Mr Hende…

Has any one around here tried it? It sounds like the strain to grow for a late starter like me. High yeild, little hazzle, good crop. But as I have been told clones are the way to go. As I'm a relativlely new I don't want to risk my money on un-proven seed stock. (And time and face) So I would really appreciate any feed back. Also other buzz breeds like Haze, Hash and G-13 look worth the effort. Is it possible to mix these species in a single sea of green?

Drug house squad shut down By EDITH BEVIN December 17, 2002 A police operation set up to target drug houses has been abandoned, the Northern Territory News learned last night. Assistant Commissioner John Daulby said Operation Firefox had been shut down. It was set up on August 14 and used members of the drug squad to target known drug houses following the introduction of the Government's tough new anti-drug laws. But Mr Daulby insisted the end of Firefox did not mean police had given up on drug houses. "It's been a significant operation, but it has run its course," he said. "But we will continue to target drug houses." Mr Daulby said education packs on …
