northernstar What a load of bull, Queensland cops were claiming the same thing with every drug bust leading up to schoolies, typical press release spin. I spose they will try to use this to justify their hardline attitude at MG

Reported in New Zealand today, 27/04/10. Note the usual lie: The harm that this drug causes New Zealand communities can be conservatively estimated at 430 million dollars a year. It hurts every community in every part of the country." Police swoop in major drugs bust Police have swooped on 35 businesses and homes around the country, arresting hundreds of people in a major cannabis bust. Two people have appeared in Christchurch District Court charged with cannabis offences including supplying rapid root hormone formula knowing it was going to be used to cultivate cannabis. Deputy Commissioner Rob Pope said today that "Operation Lime" would "break the corners…

Atleast there is a ray of hope for all of us. If the bill is passed by Cali, it will probably prompt some serious debate about prohibition. http://www.suntimes.com/news/huntley/21291...-HUNT30.article

COMMENT: Hopefully he gets decent representation and can prove this sort of trade has been going on before these laws were even thought of.* Northern Territory police have seized 16 kilograms of kava that was en route to a remote island community. A well respected 56-year-old Aboriginal elder was arrested in relation to the haul. Police from Ramingining in Arnhem Land stopped a Toyota landcruiser at Barge Landing Road on Good Friday. About 16kgs of kava were found, as well as a small amount of cannabis, a police spokeswoman said. "The kava had a street value of $16,000 and was headed for Milingimbi Island before it was intercepted by police," she said in a sta…

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local...on/1812669.aspx Lights, camera, police action DAVID STOCKMAN 26 Apr, 2010 08:52 AM A marijuana grower purportedly from Canberra has posted videos on YouTube of his efforts to grow the drug under artificial lights in his home. Police are examining the footage from seven short videos that include basic tips and progress of the illegal activity. The videos include intermittent narration from a man, whose only appearance on camera is his hand reaching for the plant. Police are investigating the videos and were set to contact administrators at YouTube to find out the origins of the video and about taking the items d…

AAP April 23, 2010 9:13AM http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/breaking-...x-1225857281273 © Herald and Weekly Times WHEN a tsunami warning hit New Zealand, Richard Toihau Carlson had to move his cannabis to higher ground. So the 57-year-old had nearly 8kg of the drug stashed in his car when the police spotted a broken tail light and pulled him over on the North Island. Judge Tony Adeane said police found 15 plastic bags of cannabis in Carlson's vehicle last September. Carlson said he was moving the drugs for fear of a tsunami. Although the weed was mouldy, it would have been worth $NZ40,000 ($30,650) in good condition. Carlson pleaded guilty to possessing canna…

Got a call yesterday from someone who purchases supplies from a gold coast hydro shop. It was to pass the message to a friend of mine who also purchases stuff from down that way. He said he got a call from the hydro shop on his mobile telling him to not go near the place. He was told that cops come and go with their video cameras, filming customers, and presumably rego numbers, then go off to get a search warrant. He (shop owner) said that this was how the recent gold coast busts eventuated. Other plans were made between them to enable the trade of supplies to continue, but not out of the shop. Is this so far fetched that it beggars belief or can they do this? Yo…

(Reuters) - Below the perpetual fog that shrouds the redwood groves, green hills and rocky coastline of remote Humboldt County thrives a lucrative but hush-hush industry -- marijuana. U.S. Pot pays the bills in this Northern California enclave, home to hippies and good old boys alike who espouse the weed's curative and economic benefits. The expensive trucks, bustling restaurants, escalating rents and plentiful wads of cash all point to profitable pot cultivation in Humboldt. Now, a state voter initiative on the November ballot that would make California the first U.S. state to legalize and tax this cash crop has locals jittery about losing their dominant market pos…

http://www.watoday.com.au/national/human-r...00418-smng.html As one of the only developed countries without a human rights act or 'Bill of Rights', what a shame this has been rejected despite the findings of a report it commissioned last year. Of course, the main problems with them introducing a bill as such, would be their 'stop and search' and 'anti-bikie' laws will be royally screwed over. But so be it. why take away the freedoms of many to catch maybe a few? Another case of the government turning us all into 'sheep', doing whatever they say and want us to do.
