Author: MAIA SZALAVITZ Date: 22/7/2010 Source: http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,...2005559,00.html Copyright: Time magazine Well, this is a lengthy article, but a good one. Seems a fair review to me - taking the line that cannabis doesn't 'cause' this mental illness, but that it's not nearly as simple as that either. Seems a good contribution to the debate. Text pasted below, but original article also has videos etc. Since the days of Reefer Madness, scientists have sought to understand the complex connection between marijuana and psychosis. Cannabis can cause short-term psychotic experiences, such as hallucinations and paranoia, even in healthy people…

The federal government is hiding controversial plans to force ISPs to store internet activity of all Australian internet users - regardless of whether they have been suspected of wrongdoing - for law-enforcement agencies to access. Political opponents and other critics of the scheme have described the draft policy as "alarming" and accused the government of going "on a fishing expedition for as much data on the public as they can get". One ISP executive has described the plan as "a nanny state gone totally insane". The Attorney-General's Department has been holding consultations with industry about implementing a "data retention regime", similar to that adopted by the…

Make sure your wiring and equipment is sound and not over loaded, and never use materials that can catch fire.

Source: townsvillebulletin.com.au Seems their trying to throw people off with the methods of busting people with that bit of trivial info. There's next to no way they could possibly know that a "Terry White" (even though there's pharm shops trading under such name) is temporarily residing at the address or not. Just if you're importing seeds, do your best to keep all bases covered as you'll never know if they'll act on a intercept or not.

I seriously cant believe some of the shit that is on the internet. From our good friends at Chemist+Druggist ... which 'has been supporting and championing community pharmacists for nearly 150 years since its launch in 1859" comes this little gem (apologies, but can't seem to link properly to the article itself, but it's found here www.chemistanddruggist.co.uk) ... yeah, you'll help him if he's addicted: "Here take these instead, they're legal." It's almost as bad as Pfizer Australia's "Health Report" all about the abject dangers of using cannabis. (Warning, it's a PDF and probably a pretty big file...) http://www.healthreport.com.au/Reports/33.pdf

http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/greens-h...-y0h4.html#poll It's a newspaper poll, I know the 'anti-drug' crowd are mustering votes in favour of continuing to treat all users as crims but I figured you guys might have different ideas. Cheers

http://www.denverpost.com/headlines/ci_15437322 So I was reading this feature on medical pot reform from the Denver Post. Not a bad read, very long, well detailed (it doesn't really break any new ground..) and reasonably balanced (although there are some glaring omissions regarding the origins of prohibition and the level of people seeking treatment for cannabis). Anyway, the bit that really jumped out at me was this: "Cannabis Therapeutics in Colorado Springs has developed a hash oil — essentially concentrated marijuana — that it touts as 86 percent THC. (Even the most knock-out marijuana buds are usually no more than 20 percent THC.) Andreas Rivera, Cannabis Thera…

NSW Police Association president Scott Weber confirmed last night that officers had complained the show - which pays the force for access to officers - had gone too far. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/...o-1225885489955 Something that I've found to be of growing concern is the apparent rise of reality cop shows here in Australia to rival those of America. They seem to be everywhere now, and it seems to me a lot of them focus on drugs and drug users. Pay TV has a whole station dedicated to crime and punishment (mainly American shows) and now Australia FTA stations seem to have taken their lead. The fact that TV stations are paying cops for access is a part…
