So, when a group of entrepreneurs bought the rights to sell a drink made with tea and cannabis in the UK, it could have been the perfect opportunity for marketing a product guaranteed to make consumers zone out. Instead, C-Ice is concentrating on what it claims are its health properties. "The health angle is by far the most interesting one for us," says Harinder Kohli, C-Ice's UK commercial director. Kohli says C-Ice can boost the immune system as a result of the vitamins, minerals, omega oils and amino acids found in cannabis. The dri…

MUSIC fans will be able to legally record their CD collections onto iPods and MP3 players under a raft of proposed changes to Federal Government copyright laws. Taping TV and radio programs and using copyright material for parody or satire will also be legalised as part of the reforms. And in a move expected to be welcomed by artists, the Government plans to introduce new enforcement measures to combat piracy. The changes are part of a major overhaul of copyright laws to be announced today by Attorney-General Philip Ruddock in response to millions of Australians who effectively break the law every time they reproduce copyright material for personal use. The key c…

Expert: A little liquor helps houseplants Study finds diluted alcohol stunts stems but not blossoms Thursday, April 6, 2006; Posted: 4:01 p.m. EDT (20:01 GMT) ITHACA, New York (AP) -- For home gardeners who don't want their daffodils to tip over, a Cornell University horticulturist thinks he has the answer: Get the flowers a little tipsy with some hard liquor. Giving some potted plants diluted alcohol -- whiskey, vodka, gin or tequila -- stunts the growth of the stem but does not affect the blossoms, said William Miller, director of Cornell's Flower Bulb Research Program. As a result, the houseplant does not get so tall that it flops over. Miller reported his fin…
