So lately I've been noticing that mozzie coils are being suggested as a safe and natural way to kill pests in the growroom. Sure pyrethrum is safe, but I don't think people are giving the use of mozzie coils the proper consideration. While they do contain Pyrethrum which is safe, there are a multitude of other ingredients which likely are not even on the label. The main constituent of mozzie coils is sawdust, coconut husks, or some other kind of filler. Other ingredients include binding agents, dyes, and other chemicals to help them burn and to enhance the action of the pyrethrum. Now I'm not going to hold everyones hand, but if you bother to even do some half-assed r…

G'day Troops. For those of us unfortunate enough to have this problem your favourite Aunty has pulled on its footy boots and declared war on these little bastards. When I first saw them there was only a few, then overnight, shit, mongrels everywhere. So Norm being Norm attack is the best form of defence. With limited resources, read funds, I took to 'em with what was at hand, namely fly spray and mozzie coils. I also had some fly strips from summer left, so they also got a gurnsey. One of my Pot of Gold suffered a bit of burn from the spray, but nothing serious. It stopped the pricks cold. A couple of days later there were a couple around so I lit another mozzie coil an…

During veg/flowering i caught caterpillars, grasshoppers and some other stuff, but nothing seemed big trouble after the plants reached a certain size. Now i found lots of webs though under the leaves after harvesting and i'm worried about the other pl…

So after weeks of delicately caring for a few beautiful seedlings I woke this morning to find they have all been murdered. Cut off about half an inch above soil level, upper stems looking like they've been stripped but a pretty clean cut. The plants were elevated amongst some more robust clones that were left untouched. There was quite a large fly buzzing around in there but i've never seen a fly attack a plant. This is an indoor grow. Has anyone encountered this sort of thing? My initial thought was a rat but i havent seen any droppings or other signs of these bastards. The plant were not eaten just lopped.Any ideas?

hi all, after a long time tryin, i finally got my hands on a great strain and now for the first time ever i have them, and i now also have those nasty little bastards ''spider mites'', murphy's law i guess!! i used a product called ''eco-oil'' as recommended by my local, but either i didnt treat them enough or it just didnt work! either way i thought i had em beat but the resiliant little bastards are still there and worse, they seem to have enjoyed the oil cause its now got to the stage where im seein webs at the nodes!! the oil says that it should not be used on sensitive flowers (are buds sensitive flowers?) so it doesnt look like im goin to be able to treat them with …

Hello everyone, I planted 2 feminized autoflowering Il Diavolos about 2 weeks ago and now there is a perforation on the leaves. I added Neem to the water 2 times. I also sprayed them a couple times with it. It might get washed away though as the plants get very wet every night due to high humidity. Any idea whats causing the holes? One pic shows an orange dot (on the first pic, quite far up to the left of the leaf stem), and on another one i can see a white something.

I am suffering my first case of mould, ever. I live in a climate which until now, mould was never an issue. The mould is starting where little caterpillars are or have been living in the buds. If you add all the wet weather we've getting you have mould. I have been trying to remove all the mould from the plants but, when I come back the next day, I find more. So all I can do now is rip the rest of the plants up. I guess I'm a bit lucky because I've only lost 1oz or so of smoke, so far, and it could be much worse. I used Dipel to remove the grubs but it was to late, the damage was done. I really feel for growers living in humid wet places at this time of the year. I h…

My first attempt to grow my medicine and after 3 months some of my plants are just wilting and dying. I have sandy soil (sure I live on an old beach sand dune) which I constantly dig compost into to build it up. Could it be competition from being in amongst other bigger plants or is this a disease. It is very quick like a couple of days and they are dead. Still have a few left but this is terrible as it is like my lifeline (keeping my eyesight) is being taken from me.

QUOTE FROM GOPGOP@ Return of the Grashopper. " I also asked what the Gnat/ scarid fly/catapillar bacteria I got was, that you can control pests in ya Coco with or prep Coco with, it is called "Dipel" , it is the bacteria 'Bacillus Thuringiensis' . Nice way to control bugs in ya medium without going Neem or some of the harsher Chemical controls." Well......after wondering why the Gnats seem to be still around I did some research, while my hydro shop guy was on the right track, he made 1 error, the 'Dipel' product is Bacillus Thuringiensis kurstaki, this controls catapillars and the like, (and he thought also Fungas Gnats and Scarid fly) but in fact there are Hundr…
