I would like to take credit for this but credit is due where credit is due. i obtained this info from the Incitec website (although it obtains to agriculture on a large scale, the plant basics and nutrient requirements are basically the same) Feel free to move this to the appropriate section if you feel it isnt in the right place. Nitrogen Nitrogen in soils Nearly all the Nitrogen in the soil orginates from the atmosphere, which is made up of about 80% nitrogen, The Rocks and minerals from which soils are formed do not contain nitrogen, Most of the nitrogen present in the soil is in the form of organic matter. Organic Nitrogen is however not available for plant uptake…

Just dug a new plot deep in the jungle, problem is the soil is not the best, its a bit clay like. Im used to growing in rich soils and pots that have no need for added nutrients and mediums. Should i use some organic soil activator such as humus, along with a clay breaker or would the humus be enough with some added premium soil mix. Or is there something better i could do?

Ever walked through a tomato hydroponic greenhouse?, do and you will find massive dark green tomatoe plants growing so vigorously that if you stand still long enough they will grow over you and kill you. Ever wondered about the nutes these plants grow in it must be tricked out stuff right, well no. A typical nutrient used in commercial hydro costs no more then 90c a L for the concentrate which is 200EC and can be diluted at 15:1 more then your typical nute from a weed hydro store. So why do stoners pay $15 - $40 for nutrients - well i dont know really. Typically a 2 part bottle of nutes available at your local will contain about 50c worth of raw ingredients. Add in …

hey guys, i just pulled my EC out after a while and discovered she's gone all dead on me! My canna vega + flores nutes just arrived and my question is this: Presuming my water is at a 0 EC reading, at what ml/L ratio should I water my mother plants? I have no way of testing the EC until my new pen arrives in over a weeks time and want to start using the canna stuff as the charlie carp I have doesnt seem to be meeting their nitrogen needs as the canna will. Any help will be muchly appreciated guys!

Gooday Gents, well my babys are about 3 weeks into flowering and i just added bud xl to lastnights feed. They wake ina few hours and iwas wondering if i can/should add top booster to tonights feed along with some more bud xl? or should i wait a week like the feed chart says? Also, when i finally do use Top booster, should i use for more then 3-4 days or stick with recomended dosage? Also...is trimming in flower phase bad? my females are quite bushy and i think if i trimed alot of fan leaves it would shed some light on some new crowns. does this drain energy from the plant/alter where energy is directed? Good grows and Happy Hollidays

This morning i was checking all my potted plants (including my veggies and a carob tree i oddly found growing down the side of the house that i stuck in a pot) I usually just look under at the pots to see if any roots are coming thru and i usually noticed worm castings (i didn't know they were worm castings until today) under the pot of the carob plant, after pulling it out to check the roots, i found 2 little earthworms happily going about their day, and the little plant was doing fine, since they've been going through the soil the worm castings have been falling through the drain holes. anyway, My question of the day is... Will it be much benefit to drop in a couple…

This is a mix and method I use for growing in pots,it works for any type of plant. I've used this for "all" my growing for the last few years and have always got better havest wheights than from using commercial products. With garden vegetables we usualy end up giving stuff away because we either don't have storage room or can't eat enough to keep up. For "certain plants" I use 50 litre containers. Start with a fresh 50/50 mix of compost and potting mix. Add to that one hand full of blood an bone, mix in well. once pot is full, scoop out a hole in the center and sprinkle in one hand full of skim milk powder and a little crystal rain. Place the plant and cover roots. Trowl i…

Are these N P K ratios weird? as in i thourt the NPK should have a big first numbver in the veg nutes for the N. the NPK seems real small numbers to me and WTF why in veg nutes would it be 3-3-14 vegetative nutes Part A 2 : 0 : 4 Analysis [%W/V] what ever that means in the brackets Nitrogen as No4 = 0.12 nitrogen as No3 = 2.40 calcium = 2.20 potassium = 1.65 sulphur = 0.00 phosphorus = 0.00 iron = 0.045 magnesium = 0.00 zinc = 0.00 manganese = 0.00 boron = 0.00 copper = 0.00 molybdenum = 0.00 krebs metabolites = 0.003 Part B 1 : 3 : 11 Analysis [%W/V] Nitrogen as No4 = 0.00 nitrogen as No3 = 0.65 calcium = 0.00 potassium = 4.55 sulphur = 0.00 phosphorus = 0.65 i…

Hey all, I'm growing in soil and only require a fert for flowering, I grow sea of green style in 4.5L 200mm pots, useing searles premium potting mix (but will be using canna potting mix next time) blended with perlite and add dynamic lifter for roses when clones are first potted, the dynamic lifter has a 10:4:12 NPK ratio. At the moment i'm using liquid potash and just a bloom nutrient from bunnings feeding once a week, is there anything i am doing wrong, i'm slowly working on parts of my system and plants are happy and now i want to get a good quality nutrient to bump the yeilds up. Now as far as i can tell i need something with about a 1-3-2 mix and am finding it ha…
