Hello there, Iv been doing some research on nutrients and PH testing and keep getting somewhat confused, as most instructionals and guides will tell you to test the water PH level before feeding the plants, but when i read grow diaries, people test their grow medium. Im a COMPLETE begginer, and i do feel like a d**k for asking very basic questions every knows as common sense, but im a complete newbie, so would be extremely greatful if anyone could possibly answer these questions for me... just yes or no would be fine, but any extra information is always appreciated. *When people/articles reffer to nutrients, do they mean the PH adjusters, or are nutrients a whole addi…

Hi all, just about to start my first grow (outdoor) and I've seen Yates Seed Raising Mix (http://www.yates.com.au/products/pots-and-potting-mix/special-purpose-potting-mix/yates-seed-raising-mix/) suggested by a few members here, would it require any perlite or is it OK as is? also a mate told me to use Yates Thrive Soluble All Purpose Plant Food (http://www.yates.com.au/products/fertilising/water-soluble/thrive-soluble-all-purpose-plant-food/) once a week once the seedlings have been established but I have also read that any fertiliser in these early stages is a bad idea? thoughts?

Hi everyone, Sorry if this a really stupid question; Can hydroponic nutrients such as Canna A+B be used in a non hydro soil set-up? Currently indoors, hand watering and will be outdoors in the ground being drip fed from a water tank when they're 2 months old. If not, what would you recommend?

Quick query, have equal parts coco, canna terra professional and course perlite for growing, along with canna terra nutes I think, is mixing at one third to each for my mix going to be fine? It's been quite a while since they were purchased and can't find the notes on what ratios to use. Cheers

Has anyone used this? I'm currently in coco but considering switch to this indoor soil, can anyone comment on how it compares to coco and/or other potting mixes. Cheers

Hi all, I'm trying out Canna Boost but I'm not sure how often it should be applied. I'm using Coco medium and Canna Boost A & B for nutes in PH'd water. When they go into full flower I find I need to water them every day which I do with the A & B. Being cautious, I've decided to use Boost just once a week, but I have no idea how often it should be added, does anyone have any advise on this? Thanks

I've been chasing a vegan organic fertilizer for an outdoor grow and found these guys sell some quality product. But which one to use? http://www.ecogrowth.com.au/Product.html I was thinking the NPK Eco-Prime Blue with a bit extra Soft Rock Phosphate to boost the P ratio. Thoughts? Is there a better mix?

Hello fellow aussies. I'm sorry to have to burden some of you with this, but iv been looking online for a simple explanation regarding nutrients and PH level testing, but all i seem to find is information on how to raise the PH or lower it, and the preferred PH levels, but no information in regards to what I'm testing........ I wasn't kidding when i said extreme newby, and i feel like a real dumbass having to ask, but all well...we all gotta start somewhere don't we? I'm familiar with smoking weed, just not growing it . So I'm just going to ask some questions in hopes someone could give me some starting info.... So regarding nutrients, I'm guessing this is the e…

Hi guys n girls, how's things? I'm currently getting ready for the up coming grow season.. I've got a variety of seeds that can't wait to pop.. og kush, pineapple kush and 3 different bagseed strains. I will start the seeds sometime next month, in the mean time I am gathering equipment, nutes etc. I've found a beaut little spot, Nth E facing gully with a nice little Creek too. I went to bunnings today to get a few things, and a grabbed a bag of richgro blood meal to add to my soil mix. The directions on the back only write about adding to the soil by the square metre and not cubic measures, is there a way of converting it accurately? Sorry, I am no mathematician,

I'm really confused by products such as rockwool and coco coir as a seed raising medium. Are they only used in hydro setups? what are their pros/cons? Previously I've only tried basic outdoor grows but this grow season I'm experimenting a bit and starting my seedlings under lights indoors and moving them outdoors after 2-3 months depending on their growth. I've only ever used a typical seed raising mix from Bunnings, with a roughly 90% success rate, but from my research I've noticed everyone doing an indoor grow uses rockwool or coco coir(?). I will not be germinating in the medium, I will be hand watering while indoors and watering with a drip system while outdoors and …

Hi guys, First off- sorry. I know there are a ton of other threads on this topic. I've done a lot of research/reading on the forums here and elsewhere and my head's a jumble from all the information. First post on a site like this so go easy on me I was hoping for some recommendations on products to buy in preparation for my very first grow. Complete noob here (to gardening in general), so the more specific you could be about particular brands of mediums and fertilisers would be appreciated. Seeds: Auto-flowering, feminised Northern Lights. Plan: Just want to start off with a couple of plants, indoor grow under CFLs. Medium: Open to starting with soil or coco, but …

Hey guys and girls I need your opinions/experiences. Im currently planning my first ever grow and easily the hardest hurdle so far is what medium to use. I ended up buying a 70% premium coco 30% perlite mix but im not sure if the coco will hold enough water for a once a day watering or ill need to add a bit of vermiculite to up the water retention properties. What do you guys think? Cheers guys
