I'm setting up a duel chamber affair with side by side veg/flower areas, area 1x1x2.8. 600hps china in each (not bought yet so can be altered - maybe a 400HPS would be better in the veg???), clay/per 30/70, recirculating system same as Luke Skywalkers a simple recirculating hydro setup, 250mm extraction each chamber and intake fans Truncheon meter, digital ph meter, H202, Digital thermometer, CO2 filter, small oscillating fan. Can I ask your advice on some things... 1. What is the optimal PH of the fresh water from the top tank in the recirculating system? (Is it about 5.8 for hydro as compared to soil about 6.4?) 2. Should I germinate seeds in the rockwool str…

Can clones be placed immediately under a HPS light and can they be fed via a recirculating system? Cheers Jimbo

Gday all I'm nearly there, just over a week to go now hopefully? I was just wondering, I would like to keep one of the plants that I harvest as a mum to take clones off mid jan next year. All I know is that I harvest, prune right back leaving 'smaller' or 'lower' buds behind on the stem and turn lights back to 24hr days? What sort of nute strength should one use(weak or normal) during the first few weeks? Thanks for input cheers

just wondering if anyones heard anything about or ever used a cloning machine for taking clones. they use rootless aeroponics spray mist and are fine to use in hydroponic or soil gardening. they reckon they are a 100% success rate in 5 days!!

Hi there How much direct sun should new seedlings get outdoors? It's high 20's on average most days where I am and am uncertain if new seedlings should be getting direct or indirect sunlight, or a mixture of both in the early days.

G'day! I took some clones last week and now they're looking quite sad (Link to photo below). The one on the right is about a week older than the rest and the leaves are turning brown. They're in an esky with a little bit of tap water in the bottom. I spray them a couple of times a day with a weak nute spray (should I be using just plain water?). And I have been keeping a compact fluro on them, probably a bit too close. I initially had glad wrap over the top to keep the humidity in but I removed it after a few days. But I have just put some more back on today to up the humidity. Does any one have any tips to help them perk up? They were looking very healthy for a whi…

I just sprouted the "only two seeds" from a good amount of quality stuff. I'm not sure but, suposedly this grow was from female clones. The seeds sprouted very quickly. I don't know if they are from a hermie or a true male. If a hermie pollinated these seeds, will they grow only hermie plants or is there a chance of getting a true male or female plant If they came from a true male/female than I have at least a 50/50 chance of getting a male or female. I guess the only way to find out is to grow them out and see what happens. Regardless the stock is very good so I want to take good care. I think I should grow these separate from the rest. They …

Hi all I've been looking around for info on having a mum in DWC but can't seem to find much on it. Is this because it isn't done, or it's not right for a mother plant or what...? Would it be too hard to maintain a mum in this setup, keeping it bonsai and root-rot free etc...? I don't like the idea of having a mum in soil so would prefer to use a hydro medium like perlite or whatever (if DWC is no good for her), but I don't like the idea of having to hand-water either... If she was just in plain perlite, how many times a day would she need watering and for how long? Would love to hear from anyone with DWC mothering experience or any advice at all! Thanks peeps!

I put about 40 seeds in damp paper towel . I put 20 of these that looked swelled up in peat plugs about 5 days later. Soon I had several sprouts and put the tray under a 4 ft flor shop light with 2, 40 watt "OTT LITE" Plant growth bulbs . I had 2 varieties of unknown origin . They quickly grew about 3 inches and now have one set of true leaves. Today I noted one variety had produced several roots that grew out of the sides of the plug . The other type produced a single tap root out the bottom. Do some strains produce a fibrous root ball while another will grow a single tap root?

well i have taken me clones in flower and they have been in my clone chamber for rufley a week and a half and 2 of my rhino clones have popped a few male flowers now i can only think that this is due to the mother plant being a possible hermi now i have checked my mother plant (white rhino) and cant find any flowers at all so im thinking that it has a small amount of hermi in it and during the cloning process i have stressed the clone out and that has forced it to go hermi. what do u think and also with one of the clones that has gone hermi i have pulled open the growwool to have a look at the root struckture and this is what i have found now does this look right…
