copyright 2002 Joe Knuc rev. 2004 MARIJUANA OPTICS An elaboration on the phytochemical process that makes THC The resin exuded by the glandular trichome forms a sphere that encases the head cells. When the resin spheres are separated from the dried plant material by electrostatic attraction and placed on a microscope slide illuminated with a 100W incandescent bulb, they appear very dark when observed through a 300X microscope. Since orange, red, and infrared are the component wavelengths of incandescent light, and since the absorption of light makes an object dark or opaque to the frequency of the incoming wave, one can conclude that these wavelengths are probably…

Yo fellow growers, tokers and THC lovers, i spend a lot of time researching the forums looking for all the info on good grows. I haven't had the balls for a full grow, too friken paranoid about getting caught! Been smoking over 20 years and i enjoy it heaps, it really needs to be legalised, i get great benefits of pain relief and love to be bent! I have 4 girls in pots travelling all over the back yard for the best sunlight and covered up at night. My question is: Is it possible to clone stems off the mother plant that are in head to grow them indoors under lights? I will be setting up a wardrobe grow soon, but these babies need to grow and swell now, any idea's would be…

High all, It's been a long time since i posted, I've got a new job and it's hard to find the time lately. My current grow (2 x Mazar + 1 x Belladonna, in week 4 of flower) is coming along well, and the last harvest is going down a treat. I went to the hydro store the other day to buy a couple of grommets and came home with a new fan I'm like a kid in a candy shop at that place. The problem i now face is the noise the thing makes, does anybody know if wrapping the fan in a blanket (with ducting attached either side) would reduce the noise or cause a fire? Peace moKing a pic of my last grow -

Since i dont know of any person who has tried this, nor has anyone said its impossible, i decided to freeze a cutting there is no real point to this experiment other than to see if the clone survives or not and since i have more than enough cuttings atm, losing one wont hurt a bit anyways, here is a pic, will put up another in a week or so and then if it hasnt already died, i'll pull the cutting out and see if it is possible to nurse it back to health btw, if you look at the freezer door you can see it decided to nibble at a leaf so if the cutting manages to survive, it will be amazing

I have been doing a bit of reading about mineral deficiencies and water types and their relation to the type of Nutrient you choose. Sometimes you come across a discussion that mentions hard and soft water so I thought I would post this to help anyone wondering how to tell what their water is. When you test your water straight out of the tap you can tell whether it is hard or soft giving you the info to tailor your nute choice to your supply and make everything work just like it should while using the minimal adjustors aka-PH Down etc. Hard water is water that has a high mineral content (water with a low mineral content is known as soft water). This content usually …

ive only ever grown one way - germinate a seed in rockwool, stick that in a pot full of clay pebbles, then to my water reservoir i add A + B veg or flower nutes, budlink (silica), then adjust the pH, and voila it's happy for a week until i rechange the water. But im contemplating getting rid of the clay pebbles and nutes and going the organic route. So what mediums are the go? and what additional nutrients if any are needed? Please respond as if i was an idiot.

I have perlite left over from my very first grow. and I really want to reuse the grow media. I've done some googling and all I got was that it's a good idea to sift and to use waterd down peroxide to sterilise. I'm not sure if reusing is something that's widely done by other members here but if anyone can shed some light on this for me it would be greatly appreciated.
