G'day fellow stoners and growers. A mate snuck back some dutch seeds for me a few years ago, Big bud, jack herer, silver pearl ect. and I have had great success with them. Last year though I noticed a weird silvery necrosis of my shade leaves, but only on one side and alternating! e.g internode 3,5,7. I ended up chucking these mutants and a few hermies (as you do) so I don't know if I could have bloomed these things and if the flowering growth would have been affected. I assumed the problem was genetic NOT enviromental as other plants were healthy as and I know a thing or two about indoor cultivation, maybe those seeds are just too damn old. Thoughts anyone?

Hi guys and girls, firstly, want to say that this site is totally AWESOME!!! I've been a member for a while, and have been doing a lot of reading on this site from all the different forums, and also from a few good books, with the idea of starting a small grow--just a closet atm. I'm at the stage where I think I'm ready (YEY!), but am after some advice about which strains might be best to grow for smell. I'll be using a carbon filter for sure, but am keen for any extra advice you guys can give. Thanks heaps. H.

Hey ppl... I got a Question, i wanna go away for new years for 5-7 days and leave my plant without monitoring... what should i do before i leave to ensure my plant is still alive upon my return??? IE: my 3 plants are in a 1,4m X 1,1m box made of chipboard with a 100mm extractor fan and a 600w sodium lite + ballast (placed in a very moist basement below a restaurant) the floors are always moist and the area is generally cold and damp & there are no lights or general ventilation, but the room is pretty big [say 8m x 8m] is this good???

Hey Guys, Im hoping someone can help. I'm using coco as a medium in a basic run to waste set up, the pH level of the nute is set to 5.5-5.7 but the pH of the run off is a worrying 7.1-7.4! Its towards the end of veg and the leaves are displaying signs of element/s deficiency - (spots &/or speckled bleaching of the leaves and the older leaves are limp/tired looking) which is understandable if the pH at the root zone is so high. I thought flushing would resolve the problem but i flushed her yesterday and run off pH is still 7.2. I must admit that i have been lazy with my flushing because in my experience flushing hasn't been vital until their flowering when i increa…

Hey Ive been my clones have using coco to do my clones and for the most part it works very well but lately my clones have been showing mold or rot that starts on the outer leaf where it has been trimmed and in the tips of the clones. Just wondering if anyone else has had mold problems with their clones before and could i use an antifungal or something? thanks RR

I have been smokeing for some years and I thought up this idea. This would be my first grow If I mixed up sand, soil, blood&bone compost-zing and some other goodies Watered this with diluted worm wee but still keep it at ph 6.5 No I don't want to do hydro!!! Then put a clone in each pot. will be getting clones from a local grower. Then put the plants inside in a room that gets a good amount of sun may need to do a test to see how meny hours. Here's my Q's 1) How offten should you water the plants and how much water? 2) How close do they need to be to the window? 3) Best way to kill bugs/mold? 4) Is glass best for the window or something different? All h…

I have discovered insect crap all over the bottom leaves of one of my plants in the grow cupboard and found 2 green catapillars that have been munching into some fan leaves and it gets worse most of the bottom branches have chucked out some male flowers and its about 7 weeks into flowering I'll be pulling this one in a week or 2 they are nearly ready. I had pollinated some of these bottom branches with WW pollen so god damn it now I will have hermie seeds amongst my hybrid seeds. Why the hell did it do this when it's just about ready for harvest??Did the caterpillars do this??

I have a 25 watt uv sterilizer for aquariums The water is slowly pumped thru a sleeve that exposes it to the light. They are very effective at killing all types of micro organisms. Any opinions if uv light can affect or change the chemical makeup of the fertilizers? Seems These hydro systems use low flow rates making a uv unit like this very effective. One thing comes to mind .A uv would require constant water flow. Any thoughts? PS I still think a spray bar is more effective than air stones at oxygenating water.
