General Cultivation Q&A

I bought some Coles brand the other day, the N-P-K is 9-2-6, cost around $4 for 500ml. It's smells pretty bad, which is one reason against using it indoors but also I'm a little concerned about mold after noticing the top-soil in some of my pots is rather green looking, note that I haven't actually seen anything furry yet. But yeah the plants seem to like it. Anyone have much experience using fish emulsion by itself or with other ferts?

Hi all Was thinking of using it with my first grow but I can't find any posts on this so was wondering if it was a dud, anyone using it? Good or bad results? TA

Hello fellow growers, I am generally curious about growing my first plant for personal use as I use this stuff from time to time. Some of the questions I have are: *what seeds do I use? *how do I grow a plant if I'm at college? Does it take a lot of space etc? *does the plant have to be at a constant temperature, receive so many hours a day of sun/water? As you know, I'm a UNi student and 3/5 of a year I spend at college so I was wondering what is suitable for those conditions. Cheers for any help, Woo

Hi, First indoor grow, just feeling my way along. 3 plants started from seed, Skunk #1, Grapefruit and Stacked OG Kush, all feminised. Growing in soil with about 20% perlite. Nutes used have been Wise Wally Superfeed and Monty's Organic Plant Food. Had really slow growth for the first month until set up under400W HPS in tent with supplementary heating. Temps in tent now range from 16 to 22 degrees and between 30 to 60% humidity. Plants vegged for 33 days before reducing lights hours to 12/12. Grapefruit was topped at Day 26. hey guys so im trying to find out are pgrs poison? i was in my local the other day and i happened apon a pgr on the shop counter (name withheld) that said POISON on the label. even in a hydroponics store! is this for real? the stuff isnt bought to grow tulips im sure... the shop owner said it was fine for use but i figured that to get passed government regulation whats on the label must be true? no? or am i crazy? i dont use or need the stuff myself. ( why the fu$%k would i ). so im just here because im curious and kinda suprised.

I'm about to embark on an indoor grow and am keen to get a harvest asap. I will be using regular seeds from Southern Star Seeds and have read so much info my head is swimming with the best way to go about it. I was thinking of planting 15 or so seeds and veging for minimum time [say 2 weeks] before going 12/12 but was reading Cervantes' Marijuana Horticulture and he says that inducing flowering before plants show pre-flowers can cause hermaphrodites. Which way to go? Should I sex them by reducing the light period very early, weed out the males and then increase photoperiod again for a while before inducing flowering [seemed like it would take too long for my liking…

So judge has his new house, no landlord. Perfect stealth room with really nice (expensive) epuipment. But ill tell the missus it was cheap. So its like in a basement but think only one side underground and the other side open. In short the house is on a hill but the block.is only half cut. My room is buit down in this area. Pictures to come I'm proud as fuck to put it lightly The point : im getting 70% humidity I'm thinking this will be cool for veg but worried about flowering. I was thinking I might need to pump fresh air in the void under the house where there's dirt. I'll Get internet in a week so then I can upload some pictures. So happy

Okay so I am using a 400w HPS light in a grow tent lined with mylar film. I have a fan in the tent to keep some nice ventilation going. In veg, my light schedule is 14/12 and in flower my light schedule is 12/12. I have cultivated some pretty nice plants using fox farms nutes but all 4 plants I have grown have all turned male. My luck is great, I know. I recently ordered some femininized seeds to help my terrible odds. I also use fox farms soil in 1 gallon pots. Any tips? Thanks any and all criticism will be helpful.

I'm reading more and more I'm going to try with some crap seeds/strain first, Does anyone use the lava hydroponic rocks (orange round rocks) to grow, ? Any tips on growing outdoors with how much sun they should get. Thanks
