While no responsible person would ever advocate the use of drugs for drivers, tests using a recently developed video game called Burnout have thrown up some surprise statistics. The testers found that a moderate amount of cannabis actually improved driving performance among those they studied. A group of 20 drivers aged 21-40 were recruited for the Burnout study, all of whom had not previously owned a video games machine or described themselves of players of video games. Ten of them smoked approximately 0.15 milligrams of cannabis, …

Project for distributing medical marihuana failed. By our parliamentary redaction. The Hague, Friday, March 18. - Health Minister Hoogervorst will most likely stop the distribution of softdrugs for medical use. Yesterday, during a debate in the Second Chamber, he stated that doctors hardly prescribe mediweed because of their lack of confidence in the drug. The cannabis is supposed to relieve the pain of patients suffering from cancer, for instance. On top of that, the medical grade cannabis that is being produced under the supervision of the department has nasty side effects, like psychosis. An other reason to stop the project is the competition by coffeeshops, whic…

SEIZURES of hydroponically grown cannabis in the Adelaide's Elizabeth area are running at record levels. So far this financial year, 182 offences have been recorded, compared to 152 for the corresponding period last year. Elizabeth CIB acting Chief Inspector John Venditto said yesterday the large increase in detections was a result of a focus on drug distribution in the area. The increased use of accurate intelligence on drug manufacturing and dedicated operations to tackle them were key components of the police action. "SA police operate with effective …
